it sounds to me that the SEC is trying to force Texas...hope it happens.

Texas will not join the SEC, they're too nervous about the competition they'll face week in and week out.

Bring them in! I would almost bet if Oklahoma and Texas A&M joined the Sec, Texas would follow.

I doubt it, but if we can get A&M and OU it almost makes up for it. A&M brings you about 90% of what Texas does and OU is just icing on the cake.

Texas is the prize in this expansion discussion. Oklahaoma is a decent consolation prize though.

This would be the coup of coups if true.

I still don't think A+M and Texas are splitting though.

I think they will apparently the SEC faction is really making a hard push, I would imagine if they were sticking together they would have said so after the meeting between Texas and A&M.

Why on earth do we as UT fans want to bring in Texas and Oklahoma?

<---- This UT fan really doesn't, quite frankly.

I feel like it's "let's add Florida Parts II (Texas) and III (Oklahoma) to the schedule. And if/when they get back to par, add Florida Part III (FSU) and Part IV (Miami) to the mix.

Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, FSU, Miami.... oh... and Bama...

holy jesus, I think we'd be lucky to finish 4th in the SEC every year.

I don't think it's just the SEC faction. Lot of A&M boosters and donors are pushing A&M to go to the SEC as well.

Texas won't be forced by anyone. Everyone WANTS Texas. Texas is the #1 brand of college athletics. Texas to the PAC-10 is essentially a done deal because that is what Texas wants to do.

Texas A&M to the SEC is because they are tired of being made to look like they are just piggy-backing Texas anywhere they go. On top of that, they are a big time revenue school, which the SEC will gladly accept. I hope it happens.

Wow...No confidence in your team huh?....I personally would LOVE to get Oklahoma and Texas in the SEC...Think of the incredible new rivalries that would start....UT vs UT...OU vs Bama...Tex and Arkansas would be able to renew their old time rivlary....Damn that would be fun and exciting....Not to mention UF would be screaming and crying every week because they wouldn't get to play teams like College of Charleston anymore :)

This.

none of this expansion talk is good for Tennessee. I could care less about the preception of the SEC, as long as my Vols are winning. I would rather go back to the
90's when the SEC was down and TN was dominating.

I really like the idea of A&M + OU; you get into those markets, you get into those recruiting areas, plus you don't have to wash the shame away from bending over for Texas' demands...

I don't have a problem with A&M or Oklahoma joining the SEC. Remember when Arkansas joined the SEC? As I recall A&M wanted to as well. The only thing that kept A&M from joining the SEC was a Texas politician.

Besides, who cares what Texas wants. They couldn't handle SEC football!

It's all about TV markets and $. For example, PAC 10 commish is a businessman. He has West Coast market, now Denver market, AZ market, and is looking to expand into TX. We should have seen this coming. College football has been all business for awhile now.
