I'm not really following your line of thought. Miles took Saban's players and parlayed it into a title and has gone downhill ever since. Mack Brown has been at Texas for more years and is always in the hunt for a national title simply because of the talent in Texas. There's a helluva lot more football players in Texas than in Louisiana. They would look similar to what LSU is becoming, imo.
I don't know why the SEC would want to share the huge pie they have with other schools. The tv contracts are already paying all the current SEC schools big money. Would the revenue increase due to adding some Big XXII schools or make the payouts to current schools become diluted?
Heres what Slive had said....down a ways in the article....I don't know why the SEC would want to share the huge pie they have with other schools. Here is Chip Brown discussing everything that has happened and what his "sources" are telling him will happen in the next 4 or 5 days.
(some decent eye candy too)

Is the tv revenue going to increase because we add more schools to the lineup or will the revenue have to be split up to more bank accounts? The SEC MUST expand if these other conferences do (especially the B10) expand like the rumors say. It would be totally foolish of Slive and Co. to stand pat and expect to stay on top. IMO, we should add, at least, VT, Clemson, FSU and Miami to get to 16 teams. Throw in USF and UNC for good measure (if we miss on Texas A&M and Texas) to get to 18. No downside in adding more great teams.......sure, the competition would be even harder, but that is what we pride ourselves on right? Toughest conference? IMO, we have to keep this in-tact no matter what. We absolutely can NOT let the west coast be the biggest, highest profile conference. Can't happen.

Source: Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State plan to join Pac-10 - ESPNThat would definitely be interesting since OU is apparently claiming that they're following Texas. Where are you hearing this, man?
Interesting how the apparel manufacturer worked it's way into that rant.
