Stan Drayton is dead to me

I like the days of 2 solid backs, to me a 3 man rotation is too many. Travis Henry ran better when he got it 20 times. You need 3 ready however.

My potential depth chart

Hardesty 40%
Creer 30%
Oku 15%
Williams 10%
Poole 5%

I think Poole has talent but I think he might just get lost in the shuffle.

I like to UF model if U want your talent on the field, Special teams is a good way to get your hands on the ball

fyp.

I don't think we use five running backs, unless Oku is used as a receiver.

I could see Thigpen or Oku being used as a Demps/Brandon James attempt.

EDIT--> I do not mean move Oku to receiver, cuz I think he'll have an effect in the run game, but I could see him or creer catching a lot more passes than Hardesty will out of the backfield

They wouldn't get carries every game but they will get some throughout the season. So you think Thigpen will stay on O?

I honestly don't know at all, but i'd like to see 4.3 speed with the ball some not only as a corner who doesn't get PT.

You would play Poole over Oku? Go look at their rivals profiles again.

Who cares about rivals profiles. Poole has actually been on campus and coaches were very impressed by him last year. With another year under his belt he's only going to get better. Someone has one less star beside their name and they're automatically going to be a 4 stringer for the rest of their career.

If they can play I think Kiffin will find a way to get them the ball. Recruiting tool for future classes. He did this @ USC.

Yes he did that at USC with 2 backs. After Bush and White's freshman year, Herschel Dennis slowly disappeared. Then he got hurt.

Oku is almost 2 tenth's faster for starters; 4.49 vs 4.65.

Kiffin can't afford to play the experience card if better players are on the bench watching.

I agree about ratings. Ratings may help get you to campus, but your output on the field is what should earn you a spot in the game.

I honestly hope Giles takes his prima donna circus act elsewhere....5 bucks says this kid will be a no name by 2010, either by grades or pure stupidity.

So just like some other boards. If a young kid won't play for us He is a no good. Sad.

in oklahoma poole would have been a 5 star recruit he played against some stiff competition in ga. i watched okla 5A state championship game im sorry but some of our weaker teams this year would have run all over them like lowndes, valdosta, warner robbins even buford a 3A school could beat yalls 5A alot more speed and stiffer comp. here in the south.

As we've seen with Hardesty being fast, strong, tough are all good as far as it goes, but if you can't hit the right hole, or find another one if the primary one is not there, well then all of those attributes just doesn't much matter.

Emmit Smith wasn't the fastest guy on the field, but he had great vision, instincts, new how to set-up his blocks and just refused to go down. If a 3* Poole turns out to be that type of runner than all the speed and stars in the world won't get you on field ahead of him.

I will be glad when this dude signs tomm so we can stop with all this madness about him.

I agree. He's a good high school back but Tennessee already has commitments from one rated significantly higher than him in Oku and it is likely that T. Williams, a big, fast I-back, is headed here as well. With the backs that are already here and the ones likely coming, Giles may be worried and with good reason. He is looking for a place he can be the man. If he comes, great. But if he returns to his first choice at South Carolina, who could blame him? As for Drayton, I bet he'll be evaluated fairly on his own merits, not on whether he can deliver a confused but decent running back.

Personally, I hope they find a way to use this scholarship to land a top-rated big ugly on either side of the line. That's what we really need, not another serviceable college back.
