Stan Drayton is dead to me

So he wants to play for a has-been coach at a never-was school, who cares? Runningback isn't our biggest area of need, anyway. I would rather see some hoss d-linemen. And at least now we don't have to keep Drayton around.

in oklahoma poole would have been a 5 star recruit he played against some stiff competition in ga. i watched okla 5A state championship game im sorry but some of our weaker teams this year would have run all over them like lowndes, valdosta, warner robbins even buford a 3A school could beat yalls 5A alot more speed and stiffer comp. here in the south.

Yes, because how fast someone runs a 40 with no pads on, starting in a running stance tells you exactly how someone will run in a game.

Poole's 3 star because he's slow by RB standards (4.65). I guess you think its a coincidence that Berry runs a 4.33 and he's so good? Speed makes a big difference.

You would play Poole over Oku? Go look at their rivals profiles again.
:eek:lol:

I'll take the guy that's seen the field against college competition. If Oku outshines him during practice, I'm all over it. Until then he might just be another Kenny O'Neal.

Let's not start hating on 17 year olds because they go to the "wrong" college".

It's probably 10 years too late to put that particular genie back into the bottle, unfortunately. A multi-million dollar industry depends upon parsing the high schoolers' MySpace and Facebook pages, after all.

So that should seal the deal for Drayton then..... When Fulmer was first canned...Drayton told Giles to look elsewhere...or atleat Giles was quoted saying that. If Drayton had stuck to his commitment to TN and kept recruiting the kid to TN we would not be in this situation. I am all for Drayton being shown the door. Keep Scott and move on!

"Stan Drayton, please pick up your personal items at the front desk and vacate the parking lot immediately. You have 5 minutes."

You may be right in the end but no one will put Oku above Poole on the depth charts because of his rivals profile.

Coach Kiffin might. He did say there will be open competition. Screw star ratings and Rivals profiles. Drayton needs to be out. His only useful remaining purpose was to get Giles. He did that about as well as he coached our running backs this year. Bye.

With all the fan support Drayton has (evident herein), Kiffin will need to use no political capital should he decide to send him on his way.

Where is Drayton tonight anyway? Is he on the road with Kiffin? These guys are active.

Does Kiffin have enough time to fire him today?

Pooles 40 time was so low because he had a lingering injury during the time he ran it. He's actually faster than that. Either way, he seems faster in game than his 40 time, so it's all good.

Drayton's gotta go. His usefulness has expired.

Because he obviously can't coach running backs...

I was fairly impressed with the backs ability to break 2 tackles getting back to the line of scrimmage. When you run behind the O-line we had this year, it doesn't matter if we've got Barber, Smith, Bush, McFadden, and LT on the team, they're not going to get yards.

I have an issue with everyone on the board that bad mouths drayton. Are you there at the practices and behind the scenes? I personally thought the running backs did a step up from last year. Our o-line was horrible and for them to run as well as they did is a compliment to their position coach. Yea Giles escaped but you act like our biggest rb recruit escaped with him, but Oku is still here. We have plenty of depth. Lay off the guy unless you honestly know how he coaches because you job shadow him everyday.

wow... bold statement there. Our runningbacks weren't even close to a step up. Our o line was not very good but how can you say going from a 1,000 yard rusher and another strong back to not even 1,000 yards combined as a unit is a step up?

When he's still drawing a check from UT and tells a recruit do what you have to do, send him on his way. We'll survive without him.

excellent post

I met Drayton at the HS coaches clinic last spring. Very personable, and one of the nicest guys I have ever met. He is all class.

can somebody email this to Mike Hamilton and show him that the whole world thinks he should be fired.

I have an issue with you wanting Fulmer fired. Were you at the practices and behind the scenes? You should have laid off him unless you honestly knew how he coached because you job shadowed him everyday.

PS: I have an issue with you knowing how the whole world thinks. You should not have said that unless you shadowed the "World" everyday.

Isnt this what CLK did with Boyd? Honesty is the best policy.

Different circumstances.

Kiffin told Boyd that he wouldn't fit in his system.

Drayton basically told Giles he didn't know if he would be retained as a coach, spurring the decommit.

Very good friend of mine is a lifetime Gator and lives in Gainesville and said back when we got him it was a very bad idea because he has a problem coaching and getting along with other coaches..He said that as soon as we hired him that it was the worst thing we could have ever done because he did the same thing to Florida that he is doing to us now...The man can recruit but that is about it...I am ready for him to hit the road...If not now then sooner!

If he was so bad, why didn't Urban fire him?
