Stanley Cup (merged)

You have to go to enough games that your brain fills in everything that you can't see on the screen -- line changes, where the puck goes, etc. But yeah, no matter how well you get to know the game, TV is still a pretty pale shadow of what it's like to be in the building.

:yes::salute:

Game 3 was awesome - didn't see Game 4. Missed all but the overtimes of Game 5.

Great series and very exciting to watch.

HD helps immensely.......still can't tell all the line changes all the time, but, as for the movement on the ice, it's much better in HD.

and for someone like me, i really benefit from being able to listen to the announcers as to what's happening, strategies being implemented etc......

honestly, i'm completely surprised it's lasted this long. basedon games 1 and 2, the red wings should have run away with this thing.

they are very very good, have much better puck control, and they do things with purpose, have the pens chasing the puck most of the time......

if not for #29......

and as for 29........he was nothing less than stellar in OT....which is what i guess had me most impressed.....55 shots on goal, only 3 allowed. in almost 6 periods.....i'm no expert, but that's good.

He was no doubt good. But we're not having this conversation if we don't give up the puck so much in the first period.

Scoring with a pulled goalie is such BS. That's not supposed to actually work.

well, you can go back and look at it a myriad of different ways, all i know is, once it got in to OT, Fleury was great. and once it got to that point, he's the reason the pens won.

I'm no hockey fan or expert, but I thought the Pens would lose after having 2 power plays and coming away with nothing, and it seemed like Detroit had puck at the Pens' goal a LOT; they just couldn't score. Seems to me the Pens are living dangerously like that. Anyways, it made me tired just watching those guys.

I missed the first 2 goals of game 5. Didn't Detroit put one in for Pittsburgh's side? But yeah, 2 shutouts in first 2 games...last second goal last night in regulation. PP goal to win it, when Pittsburgh didn't have a chance in hell of converting an even strength goal. Pitt is lucky to be in it...but that is why they play them.

Absolutely, his best game of the playoffs hands down...

jake, the Pens are going to have to win it all for Fleury to have a shot at the Conn Smythe.

send this back you your friend:

only one team has ever come back from a 3-1 deficit in the Stanley Cup playoffs to win the series.

there is always hope doozer, my dad is a Redwings fan, even got the old Redwings plate on the front of his truck, so if you ever see him around Knoxville, give him a shout. (he lives in Athens)
