Disney just bought Lusasfilm for $4.5 billion. Plans on new Star Wars movie in 2015. Thoughts?

Sixty year old Indiana Jones nuked the fridge. Will 70 year old Han Solo swallow the light saber?

I may be wrong, I read the article on The Verge, but I don't know. Lucas is such a control freak.

On the flip side, it would only be better without Lucas.

Wow, they only paid 4 bill for Marvel figured Lucasfilm would be worth more.

Sorry, but it's not happening.

Why else would they buy it? You can only make so much money on toys and video games and what-not. A new movie or trilogy makes it a profitable buy. Besides someone needs to tell Lucas "No!" every once in a while.

I stand corrected. Read my earlier post. I didn't know it was official.

While I'm pumped, I just hope Disney doesn't cause it to become even cheesier than the new trilogy. Curious to see what the story will be about. Either way, I'll be in line in 2015.

Wonder if it'll be a prequel to the prequel trilogy or if it'll be set after the events in ROTJ.

Hopefully, Disney will use Timothy Zahn's "Thrawn Trilogy" as a template for the upcoming movies

Was just thinking the exact same thing. I finally got around to starting them and I love the first book so far. Heard the rest are just as good.

As a hard core Star Wars nerd I'm screaming no, no no, but the Thrawn trilogy would be pretty cool or the Vong.

What would be kinda cool is if they digitally animated it like that final fantasy movie from years ago and just got the original cast to voice it.

I also wonder if this means the star wars comics liscense will move to Marvel soon. If so that kind of screws poor little Dark Horse.

I look at t like this, they can't really do anymore damage that Lucas hasn't already done himself. I at least hope that we get the original trilogy on blu-ray without all the special edition and modern retouching bs.

I thought the Blu-Ray had both the Special and Original editions on it.

This should be interesting, but I'm not holding my breath on the 15 release. IF they do it RIGHT, I just don't see something that big being done in 2 1/2 - 3 years. I think summer of 16 would be more realistic. Anything else would run the risk of being too rushed.
