Star Wars: Episode VII (December 18, 2015) ***SPOILERS***

I'm geeking out sooo much. There aren't many movies that I get excited about anymore but...I'd seriously consider going on opening night.

Same. I'm going to be in line for the 12am showing and the only way I won't go to that is if I'm dead or incapacitated. These two short trailers have blown the entire prequel out of the water.

Still annoyed they're going the unoriginal route of re-hashing the Rebels/Empire & Jedi/Sith stuff still, but I won't lie: that trailer was exciting. Especially the end.

I think it's Luke talking to Daisy Ridley's character.

I think people are reading too much into "my father has it", but according to spoilers he is definitely talking to somebody that has the force.

Color me impressed.

Of course I never doubted Arbrams. He he did a great job turning Star Trek into Star Wars so I knew he do good.

This movie looks so amazing. I think this is the most excited I've been for a movie since I was a little kid and they announced the first live action TNMT movie.

I think its Domhnall Gleeson talking even though the lines are from Return of the Jedi.

It looks like a "serious" star wars movie to me. I dig that. And the special effects, practical and CGI, are shaping up to be amazing. In the trailer you see a storm trooper get blown into the air like a rag doll and blood on another ones helmet..things we never saw in the other movies.

As far as effects go..that BB-8 droid from the first trailer is real..

btw, according to the exhibit at the Star Wars Celebration:

The Empire is now "The First Order"

The Rebellion is now "The Resistance"

So they are completely departing from the Expanded U. I know they said they weren't going to be beholden to it but I thought they would stay within the basic frame work.

I think it might be Luke's son..he says "My father HAS it" not had..sounds too young to be Hamill but I have been known to be wrong on occasion.
Its Hamill's voice!

He says "My Father had it" referring Darth Vader (as it shows his helmet), "I have it" showing him with his robotic hand touching R2-D2, "My Sister has it" referring to Leia and then he says you have that power too.

It's actually an easy explanation so to speak...

In Episode 3, 4, 5 and 6, it's already seen that some characters don't necessarily "die off" but become part of the Living Force. (Yoda, Obi-Wan, Anakin) So technically by saying "My Father has it" in this one could mean that Luke has/had been communicating with Anakin via the Force just like he did with Obi-Wan. From a certain point of view, Anakin never really died and could be remembered in the present tense.

However, I really hope they don't go so far as having a Hayden Christian cameo. Complete wreckage...

I would burn down the theater if they did something that stupid.

Here's the challenge that JJ Abrams and his team have with this film. He cannot simply make a film as good as the originals. He has to try and make a film as good or better than the way fans REMEMBER the originals and there's definitely a difference. Years and years of build up and anticipation, not to mention all of the sentimental feelings and memories are something Abrams is going to have to try and satisfy. That's an extremely tall order and honestly, I don't know if he'll truly succeed but I'm willing to bet he'll get a lot damn closer than Lucas did with the PT. This new trailer definitely gives me a new hope.

The magic of A New Hope an never be recaptured. All we can hope for is an entertaining movie.

Comprehensive "Bad Things About the Star Wars movies" List:

-Jar Jar

-Ewoks

-Hayden Christenson's acting

-Replacing Old Anakin with Christensen in the final scene of RotJ

-The musical number at Jabba's Hut

-Forcing R2 and C-3PO into Episodes I-III

-The way Anakin "accidentally saved the day" in Episode I.

-Pretty much everything about Episode I (exceptions: Qui-Gon, Darth Maul, Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan).

-The fight between Obi-Wan and Vader in A New Hope.

Other than these 9 things it makes a strong case for the greatest series of movies of all time.

I gotta add Maul back to the list of "bad things" ONLY because they wasted such an awesome character on a few scenes. He should have made it to the second one and when A.S. killed the other Sith it should have been Maul instead. Such a waste of a great character.

He should have killed Qui-Gon and then during the battle with Obi-Wan somehow escaped when the others made it back to help and he was overwhelmed and out manned leaving Obi with no retribution.
