Star Wars: Episode VII (December 18, 2015) ***SPOILERS***

not possible. Luke's first saber was the one Obi Wan gave him, the one that once belonged to Anakin. That one was lost during the lightsaber duel in Cloud City.

It apparently has been retrieved, rumor has it.

The lightsaber, I bet, will be a focal point of the film

The hilts look awfully similar.

True, at least the way the bottom is sectioned. If it is the same lightsaber, I will be interested to see how they explain how it survived that fall into the bowels of Cloud City and possibly into the atmosphere of Bespin, which was a gas giant.

Have you seen the preview where it's handed to Rey? It's definitely Luke's saber.

Luke made the one in Return of the Jedi...prolly kept the instructions and made another one? Just seems corny to think they fished through the atmosphere to get the other one back...if Lucas were running this, I'd buy it. Abrams is usually less fairy taleish.

Vader could very well have instructed someone to find it before leaving Cloud City. It was HIS after all.

In the Thrawn Trilogy they found the sabre with Luke's hand. They cloned Luke and trained the clone, Luuke, in the Dark Side.

The one from RotJ was green though. This one is blue (obviously) like Luke's/Anikan's.

^^ sounds like this should be the next movie

The trailer was awesome but is it just me or does the movie (based on the trailers) seem overly "heavy" and serious? I just hope Abrams doesn't forget that these movies are also supposed to be fun and adventurous. If the movie doesn't capture that, then Abrams will have missed the mark on what makes Star Wars...Star Wars.

As far as the lightsaber goes, it's the same one. It's one of the driving points of the movie.

Nothing Can bring a Star Wars movie down like a good Trade Federation treaty debate.

I like the marketing on this. Even after that trailer I still have very little idea what the story line is going to be about. Too often there are so many trailers and clips that you feel like you've seen the movie a month before it's released. This one will be completely fresh though.

I felt like this was the case with The Martian. Loved the movie, but there was really nothing about it I didn't already grab from the previews.

With this upcoming Star Wars film, they've done a great job of keeping the plot under wraps.

I was just talking about that with my brother yesterday. I'm surprised Disney and Lucasfilms has been able to keep the leaks locked down. They also done a great job of not spoiling the plot in the trailers as well.

Oh and here is this

So a theory has been presented to me that the Sith who says he will finish what Vader started is Luke.......

Thoughts?

That's what my wife, a Star Wars novice, said when watching the trailer.

However, a different actor is listed as playing the Kylo Ren character with set shots of said actor in the costume sand helmet. There have also been shots of Mark Hamill in Jedi robes.

So... Unless they are really trying to throw everyone off with misdirection I don't think Ren will be Luke.

I trust JJ knows what he's doing.

So pumped for this.

Also not looking forward to it at the same time. work (asst. manager at a cinema) is going to be chaos lol already sold out the first couple of showings.
