Starting receivers this spring

So far he has been a disappointment at RB and KR...:eek:k:

He's 160 soaking wet. He's not supposed to be an every down back, but I thought he showed some good flashes against MSU. He didn't get too much opportunity to return kicks last year with CP next to him, but also showed some flashes his freshman year.

I believe that he will fit well into this new offense.

Between Spring practice last year, spring game last year and how he worked his way into playing time late last year with that loaded receiving core, and then you factor in the fact that the new coaches obviously like what they have seen out of him then you just have to assume Carter deserves the starting spot.

Sounds like a return of the Miami Dolphins Smurfs (most of you are too young to remember). But, I'd be willing to bet two of the starting WRs will be taller than 6'2" and weigh more than 200 lbs.

Some people may think it is funny to bring race into so many discussions, but personally, I find it disgusting and totally unnecessary.

The only color we should be talking about it Orange. This other stuff is only about division, even if some think it is joking.

Please stop it!

i like it. sure its great to have physical freaks with 4.4 40's at wr but if they cant catch the damn ball then what good is all that speed? a wr is supposed to, first and foremost, CATCH THE BALL!! how many ridiculous drops did our allstars have last year?

Where did this info come from? Just curious. Did they name WR starters and nothing else?

What a stupid post. None of these guys will start. Croom, Bowles, Howard, Young, North, Harris will all be ahead of Blanc once Fall rolls around. I think it's great that some of our fans think the white dudes have more "heart" than the others, but I can guarantee you they don't have the play-making ability you need to start every down in the SEC. Nothing against the white receivers, but you're crazy if you think those will be our starting 3.

Notice the "this spring" in the title.

That's fine. For spring.

I like those guys, and I know Butch wants speed, but with the physical corners in the SEC, IDK if that's going to work.

From what I have heard, Blanc is pretty fast and physical and Carter made some tough catches in traffic last year. Devrin just didn't belong at RB but should flourish as a slot with Pig. If we play 13 games this year there will probably be at least 10 to 12 different starting combos. I would really like to see Croom and Justin King blossom this year.

I'm not doubting their ability to catch in traffic.

I'm more worried about their ability to get off physical man coverage and get open. That's not such a big deal in the slot, but if on the outside, you have to have physical wideouts. Blanc might have that, but I've seen Carter and Young, and I don't think they can. JMO.

I would not be surprised to see 6 or 7 different "starting" WRs during the season with even more seeing playing time. As long as Rocky Top is blaring, I don't care who is doing the catching!
