Starting receivers this spring

Now that basketball season is over and Tennessee is on spring break, Freak stirred up a fresh pot of controversy to increase the traffic. Well done Sir.

My list has nothing to do with race. I read on Scout this morning that these guys were the "starters" as of now and thought it was an interesting discussion. Of course things will change by fall.

If you have some better ideas for football discussions in March, I encourage you to start a thread. :hi:

Surely Vince Dallas, Alton Howard and Jason Croom will see some playing time. Haha but all of our TE's are caucasian as well, so if all our Wrs are we will make SEC history for the millenium. :)

Really? I mean seriously? My Bad, Drae, Good Grief I forgot the spell and English police run amuck when things are slow. Won't happen again Officer!

I was kidding you based solely on you're previous post asking "who the hell is Bowels". I guess it's ok for you but not for others. Damn your touchy.

Dont be so sure this isnt Dooley and Staff. Who the hell is Bowels? Will be Croom, Blanc, Howard, Young, Carter and North in the 2 deep if I had to guess.

I would not be surprised to see 6 or 7 different "starting" WRs during the season with even more seeing playing time. As long as Rocky Top is blaring, I don't care who is doing the catching!

& starting WR's, that leavs a QB, we need a RB, Got to have a center, so that leavs Tiny to fill out the rest of our O line.

I like it.

The three players currently discussed as starters are those who have done the best at picking up the new offense. The offensive coaching staff have repeatedly singled out Blanc for his execution of his routes and hard work. Let's not forget that he is also very fast. Carter is also a good route runner. That's the reason he and Worley worked so well together last spring. As the season wore on Bray began to hit Carter more. He consistently gets to his spots. Croom has also been one to get lots of praise from the coaches. He will have a big impact this season. Bowles has gotten off to a slow start with the new offense and learning the routes. He'll get better with reps. I believe almost all the WRs will have big seasons. WR U is back!!! VFL

Croom, Howard, North or
Croom, Howard, Harris

Outside of Young those other guys you named are practice All-Americans. Dervin is a play makers this what this offense calls for. If those are our starters please be ready for another 5-7 season.

This isnt Dooley and Co playing faves. Jones and his staff will play the guys performing and playing the best. No matter color, age and definitely no favorites like the previous staff.

There is a difference in spring ball and sec league play. If those are the starters we had a serious recruiting bust and we will not have the deep ball option all year .

So you are saying that if the guys mentioned line up and beat out the guys you apparently are SEC worthy and should start.... that means there was a "serious recruiting bust"?

Wouldn't it not in fact mean that someone did their homework and found some guys with talent that others overlooked? Blanc and Young particularly?

That said... I struggle to see Carter playing a significant role. Maybe he will. Speed isn't the only thing... but the guys with physical talent have time to catch up.
