State of recruiting (split)

I am 71 and know a lot about everything, so listen up. If we have the kind of season all of us think we will, then the recruiting will fall into place. It is that simple. Now see, that wasn't so hard to understand. The best players want to go where they have a chance to win something.

What's it like to have the same birthday as dirt?

Just messin with ya

It is most definitely a concern... gotta see some movement in this area in the very near future or it could be a bad year for the vols in recruiting!

Fade, I can shoot my age on the golf course, my grandkids think I am cool, and my wife is a great cook.

Now if our Vols start winning big again, everything will be good.

That is the retirement hat trick my friend! Unfortunately, I shoot your age on the front nine, lol

1. I hate Alabama.

2. I didn't choose Tennessee. I grew up here and was introduced to college football with the 98 national title.

3. The only difference between me and the "die hards" is I don't waste my time watching my favorite team when they suck.

I've never been a fan of other teams. Just don't care about my team when they suck.

Your posts never bothered me like they do so many others, but you lost me with your #3

Your handle just made me think that he also missed out on one of the greatest players to ever wear the orange. But I'm sure he was still breaking down Eric Berry's tape preparing for the draft.

I will say watching Eric Berry highlights was the only saving grace of that terrible era.

He's the most athletic player I've ever seen in college.

I thought he would set the NFL on fire. And eventhough he's had a pro bowl career, I really thought he would be a HOFer.

It is kind of odd that Butch was cleaning up with instate recruits when he first came here but now seems to be struggling with them. Anyone have any theories as to why?

Can't sell hopes and dreams anymore. All they see now is a guy who choked 2 double digit leads in the 4th quarter against Florida and Oklahoma.

We have to get it done on the field this year or its over for Butch.

Getting our tail kicked so far in recruiting.

I agree and teams like OSU and Bama don't get many three stars. We are racking up on them so far. I just hope Butch don't wait until January, again, and tell one of them to go find another school like he has the past coupe years. Js

someone said earlier we cannot sell early playing time and on field success... GA's in the same boat so how are they reeling them in?? With a new coach and staff I might add.... Things are not trending good here for this class... hope we are successful on the field this season to pull some last minute pickups and set ourselves up for some great kids in '18, but right now it doesn't look like we are gonna get jack squat.

Jack Squat plays what position? I couldn't find a thread on him. In state or out of state? It is just May, he probably hasn't even set up his official visits yet...there is still time for CBJ and staff to get back in this recruiting battle.

His uncle Didley was a heck of a good player...

:)

You guys aren't pleased with the kids interested in the Vols for 17? I thought things were going pretty good so far. UT may be offering some three star kids but they are getting a lot of offers from other big programs as well. Seems like more so than I can remember in recent history. There's a lot of big fish still out there. Some are interested in the Vols. Why torture yourself with negativity? You know how CBJ closes on recruits.
