Who is responsible for the distraction? The person who tried to blame the Biden administration for the sex trafficking of a young girl over 12 years before his presidency even began.

How about placing some accountability on Sen. Katie Britt for telling a very misleading story during a high profile speech? Of course, she was going to be called on it, when the subject of her story came forward to correct the record!

They certainly are not objective. They have as much of a political agenda as MSNBC or CNN. Since they favor Republicans - you will call them "reputable." That's a joke.

Just like with any other politically partisan site .... if you are on their side of the fence, you will find them credible .... if you are on an opposite side of the fence from them, you won't find them credible.

@volfanhill replied to me by basically saying that Sen. Katie Britt's dishonesty did not change the fact that the Biden administration has either ignored or neglected the mounting border crisis for 3 years now. They do deserve criticism for it. I agreed with him when he posted that.

However, that doesn't make Britt's dishonesty acceptable. As I have said multiple times now, she should have used the story of another victim to make her case against the Biden administration's handling (inaction) of the border crisis. Why didn't Britt just tell the story of Laken Riley then? I believe that she chose the victim she did, because she wanted to frame her tragedy in the form of an anecdote. That way it could serve as a form of self-promotion, whereas, if she told the story of someone who she had never met (such as Laken Riley), it wouldn't involve her at all. Britt wanted to incorporate herself into this victim's tragedy. That was exploitative in nature. The victim herself has mentioned that.

You can not listen to that speech and come away with any other opinion than Britt was blaming Joe Biden for the sex trafficking of the 12 year old girl she had described. You should blame Britt for this distraction she created.

For many people (in the Laken Riley case) there was a much higher level of concern, reflection, and more conversation regarding the term used to describe the suspected murderer than there was the actual murder itself including how it could have been prevented.

This is not new. When Muslims commit crimes that attract national attention, the response from the White House is rarely on the crime. No, they speak to the importance of protecting the Muslim community in the aftermath.
