State of the Union Address

CNN's flash poll with an explanation that more Democrats tended to watch a Democratic President . . . followed by a 77% approval. That's code for "this is not a representative sample and our poll is crap".

So the CNN poll results are skewed towards Democrats but we'll show them to you anyway? What's the point other than holographic (thanks Bam) images?

There really is no point.

That was evident when will.i.am was beamed into the studio.

All this analysis is worthless - yet I keep watching. I guess I'm the problem.

The Fleischer vs the other dude exchange was pure partisan cheerleading rather than any insight.

Where are the at least pseudo-detached analysts?

The holograms do the trick for me.

They're one of the few networks that do not run RNC or DNC talking points. At least not in unison.

But opposing talking points in unison does not constitute analysis.

Gergin and Crowley are close to true analysis - leave the other clowns out.

Can anyone explain why Iwo Jima was even mentioned? Photo was out of focus; we were not against the odds; butchered the pronunciation.

Total disaster.

Dumb but no dumber than any than typical SOTU references to specific people that are outliers.

Gergen is throwing out a straw man - you can't pay for educating our kids?

Just when I thought he was a semi-neutral, legit analyst.

I will say that Obama finally stopped blaming Bush tonight and instead blamed everyone that came before him. That's progress I guess.

Agreed.

I was thrilled that he showed some passion. He has tendency to be extremely dry.

He's fallen into the "entertainment" trap. From what I saw I thought he was a legit and an unbiased (though still biased) as you can be commentator. Then he went all "cable news opinion commentator" on Fleischer. We are all smart enough to figure out where Fleischer is coming from.

I'd like to see straight up analysis even if dull. Those days are over apparently.

I think AB Stoddard on Fox is pretty straight up but she probably bends to the Fox spiel being between two righties though.
