State of the Union Discussion Thread

81M people hated Trump enough to vote for anybody else. It's so obviously the explanation.
Nope. It’s doesn’t add up. Biden stayed in his house for 10 months and then when he went out the last few weeks would have a few dozen cars and maybe 500 people in them honking their horns. That’s not how you get out the vote.

Trump was drawing 10k to 40k several times a week.

I knew the fix was in when Michigan suspended their vote counting late Tuesday/early Wednesday.
There was no checks and balances on the mail in ballots being legit. With Biden’s illegitimate victory , we became the world’s largest banana republic and it continues to be this way with Biden’s performance so far.

I have watched two parents have their cognitive abilities decline over the last 15-20 years and I see the warning signs. There was no doubt in my mind that Biden was showing those same signs last year prior to the election.

You just completely ignored my point and keep harping on irrelevant points. Biden's strategy was a winning strategy. All he had to do was not screw it up because that many people hated Trump that much. There is nothing about this that is suspicious or hard to believe, if you look at it in that light. What Trump was drawing per event has no bearing on how much he was hated. Biden's cognitive ability has no bearing on how much Trump was hated.

There was an equal and in my opinion a greater number of voters who preferred Trump over Biden. I reject your conclusion. I do not believe Biden received even close to the 81 millions votes he supposedly received. The unverified mail in ballots made this an illegitimate election. The sad part is that the checks and balances that should of been in place were not and makes it impossible to prove it. I blame the congressional and state republican leadership in allowing this to happen.

You need to realize that this opinion carries no weight, whatsoever.

You can cry foul with no evidence of wide scale voter fraud until you're blue in the face, but you'll still be missing the point. The point is that there is a completely valid explanation as to how sleepy Joe could garner the most votes ever. He was going against the most widely hated incumbent that anybody has ever imagined in US history, in a troubled economy, in a pandemic, while race relations were majorly on the decline. The odds were completely stacked against Trump (part of it his own doing, part of it bad luck).

Biden has the exact same facial expressions that Alzheimer's patients exhibit. I have seen it in aging relatives.

Thing is, you view the president almost exclusively as it relates to your own daily life. I understand most people do that. But I'm hoping people would be a bit less me first about it and realize he's got 360 million other people to worry about plus arguably at least some view and obligation to the future of the US and the World.

The job is bigger than you are giving it credit.

How many wars started under his Presidency?

Did or did not the economic outlook for our country grow under his watch?

I don't think he got 81M legitimate votes. I'm not sure he got 80M legitimate votes regardless of how much people hated Trump. The number of counted votes due to irregularities is enough to have flipped the election. Who cares if Biden got 5 or 6 million more votes in California and New York. Those are two leftist moron states. Wisconsin is now looking into the 2020 election again. Something nefarious happened. Everyone knows it.

Biden is a declining dimwitted POTUS. Anyone voting for this guy had to be a moron. Now we see it in real time destroying the country. I don't think it's coincidental the fact that there is a war in Europe the first time in 80 years.

The first question is not fair since we did not start this war, Putin did. (And don't hand me that crap that Putin did this because of Biden; the facts show that he had this in mind for a long time).

The second question has two defects within it. First, it assumes that all economic growth under Trump is attributable to Trump. Some is, but not all and you cannot quantify it. Second, the issue is in large part timeframe. You could, for example, have short term growth flowing from deregulation of some industry, only to have a larger negative effect when the effects of that deregulation bounce back to bite us in some other way. Its not like you just have growth in U.S. oil production, yay for two years, and that's it. It adds and subtracts to the economy, but at different times.

Your second question is further proof of what I'm talking about. Short term economic benefit is a poor way to judge the president. It is certainly not the only way.

Biden draws the Worst viewing figures for a President's fFrst State of the Union in 30 years: Just 38 million Americans tuned in compared with 45.5M for Trump and 48M for Obama

President Joe Biden had the lowest viewership for his State of the Union than any of his four predecessors first addresses with less than 40 million tuning in, according to Nielsen ratings.

In a tracking of the 16 networks that aired live coverage of the address on Tuesday evening, 38,197,000 individuals were watching from 27,408,000 different households in the U.S.

The figures from Biden's speech come amid an ongoing war in Ukraine and increasingly dire approval rating numbers for the president and Democratic lawmakers going into the 2022 midterm elections.

There was a flip side to your argument. Biden was going against the incumbent President who had the most enthusiastic base ever.

The really sad thing is that about half of those viewers just tuned in ”to see what he’ll say next”.

Just as a reminder, Putin didn't want to play ****-around-and-find-out with Trump even though Trump was a Russian agent.
