Status of Cooper injury?

I attributed that to getting in foul trouble; she certainly did not agree with the refs' calls.
Different offense system
Players play short shifts before subbing out.
Sara Puckett was not recruiting for this system.
Sara Puckett is 6 1 people shouldn't expect her to play like the trees/ tall girls

Agree, but Kellie had her playing the 4 a lot and sometimes 5 too. Thinking fans are more disappointed in her offense, because we knew what to expect on defense this season. In the past, on offense, she started off hot early in the season then hit a wall late season. This season she just never really got going and missed so many open threes along with close jumpers. Still appreciate her and she’ll always be a LVFL, but offensively she didn’t produce this year missing many shots she’s made in past years.
IMO, Sara's shooting has suffered fm lack of rhythm due to frequent subbing. Everything else has stemmed fm that. She's contrbuted much as she can in other ways. Any sadness is probably a reflection of coming to the end of a crazy but special 4 yrs. Think how much has changed since then.

From what I remember she ALWAYS wanted to be at Tennessee but there was a lot of pressure to pick SC because she is from the state. It was almost like she didn’t even have a choice. SC was picked for her.
That’s what I heard as well. Heard Kellie was shocked when Coop picked SC over Tennessee.

She only scored 6 points, but those two 3s she hit against UConn felt huge, so I'm grateful she stuck around this year!

Any word on Cooper? Don't think we go far post-season without her.
Don't think I've seen ths posted here, but apparently Tubner said that she's day-to-day with a lower leg injury. Pretty vague, but I guess better than hearing the worst - I feared it was achilles, which certainly wouldn't be day-to-day.

I'm glad Shade didn't commit here she has been nothing special. Cooper is here and that is all that matters to me.
She has a career 48% FG percentage from the SG position. She is also shooting 44% from three. She had to start for Uconn as a true freshman last year and they made it to the FF. Plenty to like about her game. She was lights out vs SC.

She can't rebound offense is fine not a very good defender not suited for what were trying to do now. We have five coming in that are suited. Most of the ones that aren't are graduating. We need ten deep with speed were going to be close to that or have it next season.

You evidently have not watched her play defense. Plus, she is always moving and hustling. I believe she would have done well at Tennessee.

Just saw her when UConn played Tennessee we were scoring well against her defense. Watched her plenty of other times she is not that great and totally a non rebounder. Her strong suit is offense and she wouldn't have fit into the new system we have to many that don't now, but that will change next season.

1000%! Talaysia Cooper and Kaniya Boyd bleed Orange and Summitt Blue! Had the hire been made sooner, Coach Caldwell would’ve built strong recruiting classes around these players in 2022 and 2024.
No matter who was coaching at the time I believe Tennessee was always Cooper and Boyd #1 school.
As for Shade, I also agree with you. Her game resembles Jewel Spear although Shade is slightly more athletic, quicker, and looks to be taller although both are listed at 5’10. Shade averaged just 11ppg as a freshman and that has dropped to 8.3.ppg as a sophomore. Rebounding and assists numbers are low.
The incoming recruiting class along with the returning core under CKC is built to win a national championship. The players that CKC, Coach Tubner, and Coach Lazo will hand pick from the portal will all be fits to the system to build around the returning core and #1/#2 HS recruiting class.
I watched Mya and Mia Pauldo HS team hit 100 points yesterday in a playoff game. I’ve seen enough. The Pauldo twins are unstoppable. Both are ready to play significant minutes as true freshmen.
Jaida Civil HS team will play today. I’ll give an update following the game. Going to keep a look out for upcoming games of Hurst and Prawl as well.
GBO ‘solid’!

Yeah, Booker is my all-time shocker. She had visited so often she was already receiving junkmail to a campus address. And then... DAGGER! It was particularly sad because she clearly loved hanging with the Lady Vols. That one still stings.

She’s the one that the narrative of Tennessee didn’t have strong NIL support came from. Texas made her an offer she couldn’t refuse. I don’t think we were terribly behind overall, but couldn’t come close to that offer. Is what it is. Would she have developed the same way here as there? Who knows. But things would be different one way or another.

Question for any who are regular readers of Cora's columns: Is she giving a nod to inside (but unconfirmed) information of a non-basketball nature with her wording below? [my bold / my italics]

"If Tennessee was playing any other team, I might predict a loss brewing in Greenville with the way it has been playing. But given the Aggies are this injured, the Lady Vols would have to play even worse than Sunday to lose this one."

Please do not twist my honest question into rumor material. My question is about Cora's writing, and if she's given to "subtle nods" or is remains intent on delivering the straight poop.

(...not that there's anything wrong with gay poop, yada, yada, yada)

Since aTm lost Coulibally (I know, spelling is off), they are winless. So I am thinking Cora wasn’t being coy there, just picking the obvious, even if Coop sat out. ATM will be without 4 players.

I think her intention is just to note the LV have not played well lately. Were the Aggies healthy, possibly an upset. Not much more that that.

My concern was the choice of the word "brewing" within that prediction qualification.

Edit: Maybe I think about beer too much.
Post edit: And maybe I need to blue font "too much"

I think Cooper is a very talented. However, I sometimes believe she feels like she is the only player can get us through the tough depots in their games and bel Ives she is the only player who can get the team through those tough spots. Sometimes she succeeds and s what were she doesn’t.

Jaida Civil and her HS team dominating at halftime up 55 - 21 in the 4A State Semifinals. Civil already in double figures and shooting 50% from the field!
With the success of Civil, the Pauldo twins, Hurst, and Prawl the elite HS class CKC has coming in to build around the returnees is a championship roster.
The upcoming portal additions are the icing on the cake.

It’s a strong freshman class coming in to be sure.
