Status of Cooper injury?

Jaida Civil unofficial stat line 6/11 54.5% 15 points 8 assists 4 rebounds 5 steals.
2025 commit McDonald’s All-American G 6’0 Jaida Civil = 2nd Team All-SEC/All-SEC Defense G 6’0 Talaysia Cooper.
I see people talking about the current sophomores and freshmen in WBB.
Tennessee current class has four players Mya, Mia, Jaida, and Deniya that can step on a college court and physically compete in the SEC from Day 1. Hurst has the tools but as a two sport athlete her process will be different

How close in talent is the other twin to the one that is ranked higher? I always forget which is which, forgive the ignorance.

Mia Pauldo has ranked anywhere from #7, #8, #14, and now #11 on ESPN and as an McDonald’s AA is arguably the best true PG in the 2025 class with a complete offensive skillset from shooting, driving, and facilitating the offense. Mia is electrifying in the open floor. High level IQ and quickness with excellent ball handling skills. Mya Pauldo is as good a 3pt shooter as Mia. Both are good in the mid-range. Mya is the lead ball handler on their nationally ranked HS team with good vision. The difference is Mia ability to score at the rim at 5’6. She’s different. She has an elite vertical for her size that is rare. That separates them offensively. Defensively Mya has more size and is aggressive. I don’t understand their rankings and can’t find justification for the large gap. I would rank Mya from 20-30. Mia should finish her senior season back in the Top 10.

I had to join just refute the assessment Cooper is unhappy at UT. I’m familiar with the family from Turbeville and the word is she loves it and the coach. I’m a Gamecock and wish she had stayed. But Dawn has no ill will towards her. Doesn’t seem to anyways. She just wanted more playing time. Sometimes it’s that simple. I wouldn’t overthink this her body language? Hope she heals up quickly. She’s a player!!!

And she is a GREAT young lady by the way!!! That’s all you hear. She could have abandoned her local little single A high school and gone to one of the high schools that recruit. But she stayed local and led them to multiple championships.

I really loved this interview. I think she is a special player and person. Hope she is being easy on herself mentally with the injury. This is such a critical stage of human development, and to feel so much pressure to play, let alone potentially carry your team, when injured is less than ideal.
Number one the LVs did not play well as a team the last two games, defensively or offensively. I believe that affected Cooper which is not uncommon for people as competitive as she is. She tried her best to take both games on her shoulders but it was not enough because the fire and desire of the team was awful. Their defense was poor and they had problems solving the zone defense and the paint defense was poor.

I hope they are cautious with her this tourney. We need her fully healthy for the NCAAs. This SEC tournament is not nearly as important, especially given that we will be swimming upriver due to seeding and playing extra games by the 2nd round than our opponents. Next year if we get a top 4 seeding, our style of play will be so hard on those teams that have played an extra game on us. This year, let's get the Coop back in gear for the big dance. If she can play without undue risk in the SECs, even better!

If you ever play for Dawn, you will always be one of her girls no matter if you transfer out or not. That's just how she is. She is actually close with all the girls she recruited but ended up at another school. Dawn is just a very loving person.

Welcome to the forum! Please, stick around and contribute! 🤙🏼😉

This team is so cooked. Another refusal to start the game with energy. Regardless if we win, no progress was made since Sunday, that’s for sure.
