Stephen Garcia graduates/gets reinstated (merged)

The guy likes to party. Big deal.

I'm being selfish, but I'd much rather have Garcia under center when Tennessee plays usce than anyone else.

I'm glad he's back.

I just feel like if we were in this situation, there is a level of decision making I would hope for from our 5th year Senior QB who is supposed to be the unquestioned leader of the team.

Would make me very wary as a fan and I think it is opening up the door for a big controversy throughout the season.:good!:

Garcia has played in 35 games over three seasons and started 30, including the past 28. Without question, his greatest accomplishment has been to not miss a single game because of suspension. Not one.

That is quite remarkable. How does that happen? It happens when an athletics department drops its visor time after time in dealing with suspensions for a star player.

Strong. Very well written.

Which is why I'm glad he's back.

The guy is apparently an alcoholic. I hope he gets help.

However, if the Ol Ball Coach wants to keep sending him out there, I'll keep taking the W.

Yup, I hope he enjoys Knoxville this year Friday before the game as much as he did in 2009!

He has to complete Alcohol Rehabilitation as part of his guidelines of remaining on the team.

SG has been an interesting QB to follow. He'll have a couple of games where he is absolutely brilliant (Bama, UF), then he will have games where he is a deer in the headlights (UK, FSU).

Good. I hope he listens.

We've talked about it before, but Garcia is your Eric Ainge. Extremely talented but has bouts of stupidity.

I completely agree. The pick-six he threw in the SEC CG against Auburn reminded me of the one Ainge threw at LSU in 05. No.excuse whatsoever. I would like to believe that he will step-up and be a leader, but he hasn't given people a whole lot of reason to believe he will.

Ainge got drafted & as far as I know he kept his nose clean or his issues under the radar while at UT.

Garcia will not. Talent wise or personal issue wise they aren't very similar.

Ainge would have brilliant games, and then do things that made you shaje your head. Garcia does the same thing. That's where the comparison is being drawn. It's not that hard.

He didn't and he admitted he didn't but anyways that's not where the comparison comes from.

Ainge made idiotic mistakes on the field followed by flashes of brilliance.

Garcia has flashes of brilliance on the field followed by idiotic mistakes on it as well.

There's not single person with an ounce of football knowledge that thinks Garcia will be drafted or he is remotely as talented as Ainge was. The things you guys say could be made in comparison with any qb. Garcia is just the best you guys have & his success is mainly attributed to the couple of talented skill position players around him.

Nobody is saying he will get drafted or that he is as talented as Ainge. Why are you having so much trouble getting this?

It's about time for you to start sweeping the floors at your job isn't it?

Garcia has a ton of physical talent. It's what is between his ears that holds him back.

Ainge has a ton of physical talent. It's what's between his ears that kept him from being an All-Star at Tennessee.
