Most of us beieve that you are a very credible source. I know a lot of us are VERY interested in what your take is on what happened behind the scenes with the Gruden situation.

I want to know exactly what went on, in your opinion, with the Gruden debacle.

Please let the world know, I believe we deserve it.

I guess he kinda hedged his bets when he said it would take a monumental screw-up on UT's part to ruin things with Gruden, but still... he said he'd stake his entire reputation on the information he got.

It'll be interesting to see what he says.

Gotta agree totally here. I would have preferred Gruden, but if he was indeed offered and didn't come because of money or power then glad he didn't come. I want a guy with PASSION. And if anything, Jones may be good or bad, but from what I know about him, he won't let "lazy plays" or "give up" attitude be the reason you loose. If he is indeed the coach, then I will indeed give him a chance. At least he's won things, unlike Dooley, which never made sense to me. C'mon Butch Jones, come see why we love this University and this great state of Tennessee!!!:clapping:

This is exactly my point. I want to know more about our AD and what happened with the "deal".

Supposedly there was more to this than we know with the AD being the issue. THIS is what I want to know. I could care a less about Gruden at this point, I want to know more about our AD and whether or not he was the issue behind the non-hire.

That's all.

The story that needs to be told is the truth behind strong saying no. Those answers would lead us to fixing issues that need to be fixed IMO. The gruden story will tell us nothing that would help us with our leadership issues IMO. Knowing what the red flags were for strong would certainly help going forward.

Coach is right...we need to know if we are working with an egomaniac. Be sure that if we are, something eventually will come up between our head coach and the AD that can land us right back to this point. (See Mike Gundy flirtations)

Regardless of who or what is too blame for the current state of affairs its clear to me that the deck chairs need reshuffled on the U.S.S. Tennessee. Hart probably needs to go simply because this is now the third high profile incident with his name attached to some sort of stink. Hes clearly not a uniter and is not the best person to move the entire AD forward.

We owe it to the new coach to ensure he has the optimal resources and opportunity to succeed here. If we have turds in the punch bowl they need to be flushed out.

Thats an easy question, his wife hates the vols! Now back to the AD and what a debacle he did with gruden!

Gruden was in play, and Hargis is old school, so don't expect him to give up any sources. Also, he said it was unlikely that Gruden would end up here after last Friday because the administration screwed up so badly.

Bruin, Strong is a class act and wanted to honor the AD that gave him his shot. I suggested as much when his name was first floated around. I was surprised he even entertained the offer, honestly. For some, it's not about money. I hope that is the case with Jones. I was impressed with his enthusiasm in the presser. Here's to hoping he can lead UT back to prominence.

I believe strong wanted to coach an SEC team but not the 12th best one. I think he felt that if he did turn it around that he would still be middle of the pack.

That Gruden was in deep negotiations with TN is now a matter of public record. The TFP article in particular confirmed as much, the facts of which have never been disputed by anyone involved on either side.

I disagree Bruin. Knowing the whole story will tell us EXACTLY what's wrong with our leadership. Clearly, there's something very dysfunctional about the relationship between our AD, the university, and the boosters. The sooner we expose the backroom shenanigans, the quicker these problems can be fixed. Fact: this coaching search was an embarrassing train wreck. I (personally) would like to know why. That's not an indictment of Coach Jones. I will support him as I've done every coach.

Do you think that if he had bad info that he would actually say so? No! Who would believe him? Who would follow him?

He will no doubt throw someone else in the fire before hurting his followers count/$$$.

My point is no matter what he says its very possible it's a spin to save face. If you take his point now after all the bad info then it's shame on you!!!

Jeebus , show me ANYTHING that came from Jon Gruden . It's easy RIGHT .
