The story that needs to be told is the truth behind strong saying no. Those answers would lead us to fixing issues that need to be fixed IMO. The gruden story will tell us nothing that would help us with our leadership issues IMO. Knowing what the red flags were for strong would certainly help going forward.
Really ? show me a link to an article that says JON GRUDEN SAYS . Its easy right ?
Jeebus , show me ANYTHING that came from Jon Gruden . It's easy RIGHT .
Most of us beieve that you are a very credible source. I know a lot of us are VERY interested in what your take is on what happened behind the scenes with the Gruden situation.
I want to know exactly what went on, in your opinion, with the Gruden debacle.
Please let the world know, I believe we deserve it.
This is exactly my point. I want to know more about our AD and what happened with the "deal".
Supposedly there was more to this than we know with the AD being the issue. THIS is what I want to know. I could care a less about Gruden at this point, I want to know more about our AD and whether or not he was the issue behind the non-hire.
That's all.
Hargis was making it all up or he is really stupid and reporting message board rumors he read here. He covers HS sports.
He got his name out there, didn't he. That's why you see these stations and news reporting more bs than in the past. People love drama. News stations and paper media are taking a beating. People need attention to try to get readers. Clay, finebaum, basilio, hyams...none of them care if their info is accurate, and it doesn't have to be accurate to report it. Those guys are no different
I disagree Bruin. Knowing the whole story will tell us EXACTLY what's wrong with our leadership. Clearly, there's something very dysfunctional about the relationship between our AD, the university, and the boosters. The sooner we expose the backroom shenanigans, the quicker these problems can be fixed. Fact: this coaching search was an embarrassing train wreck. I (personally) would like to know why. That's not an indictment of Coach Jones. I will support him as I've done every coach.
Sparta you sound like a good guy but I am surprised that you do not mind stuff like this happening to your school and the people that built it to what it has been.
Do you think that if he had bad info that he would actually say so? No! Who would believe him? Who would follow him?
He will no doubt throw someone else in the fire before hurting his followers count/$$$.
My point is no matter what he says its very possible it's a spin to save face. If you take his point now after all the bad info then it's shame on you!!!
Phil Fulmer said this week there were issues at UT and he did not just become dumb the last two years. I mean what more do you need to know things are not just a bed of roses up there. I hope CBJ can succeed despite whatever crap is going on up there. Good luck to him and GBO
It's life man. Ups and downs. I was there when we started 0-6. I was there in '98. And what was built started crumbling ahwile ago.
No choice but to roll with it, or go somewhere else, imo.
If TN football is such a big priority that you can't take it, your priorities are jacked up.
Look guys, idk how to spell it out any clearer. Stephen Hargis' article was 100% fact. The TFP doesn't pull reporting crap. It has won national awards for it's highly accurate and well produced journalism.
The only question is whether or not the facts will come out. If you scoff at it and blow it off because you just refuse to believe that UT actually was close to pulling off the biggest hire in NCAA history, you're refusing to see reality. Gruden was close, and something big time blew up between the powers that be.
I've lived in Chattanooga for 20 years. The TFP doesn't screw around.
