stock market was up today...

It will be SnP index fund for me. I might sink a chunk in our own stock as it has been wrongfully highly sodomized in this debacle. But that’s about it.
Yeah DAL has been pummeled, but I don't think I will get back in that anymore. What is your company?

🤐

I’ll tell ya in four years. It’s one of the major defense contractors. And they all have been sodomized and will absolutely rebound. Defense is on sale and it’s always a solid money maker the way we love our spreading democracy.

Thanks captain obvious. Did you figure out how money works yet?
Yes, this is how the Fed buys assets--it sends financial institutions suitcases full of these.

Does being a lawyer make you guys pissy little twits or are most lawyers that way beforehand?
Personality leads to profession.... 10% of the population is considered " difficult" you know that person that makes you want to go into the yard and primal scream for 5 seconds....8% are lawyers.
Can't give you a link, in the absence of Luthor I have decided to channel him.

So no you have no idea still. Thanks that’s what I figured.
You cannot explain to me how the Federal Reserve buys a bond, because for whatever reason you do not want to admit that it is expanding the amount of money in circulation, even though you know it's true.

My former company has lost nearly 70% of it's stock price since the first of the year. They are heavily dependent on the auto industry and I hope they survive. The only good thing about the stock price move is that corporate raider Paul Singer from Elliot Capital Management bought a big chunk of shares and ruined the company. I hope the man burns in hell and is broke before he gets there.

It. Is. Not. True!!!

The total amount of currency is fixed. You are confusing money supply and reserves with total currency.

Seriously stop digging you’re clueless. I gave you a damn investopedia link that clearly explains it, then after that I have you a link written on a damn 8 year old’s level, and you still want to argue your wrong point. SMDH 🤷‍♂🤦‍♂️

Being an engineer, I can relate to the "difficult" spectrum.

I never had a problem working with engineers. Present the problem, they fix the problem.
Well we generally create about 5 new problems only 3 of which are related to the original problem too. But we normally get them all fixed.

A big part of being presented with some issue is seeing “what’s wrong with it.” Too often we get hung up at that point and verbally vomit about “what’s wrong with it” instead of just answering the pleading looks off “I don’t care what’s wrong with it just make it go away FFS!”

Debt /= currency. And go read up on base money, M1, and M2. Tata now!!!

That base money is backed by nothing but air... In our current environment, debt is money. Not many people are going to argue against that fact anymore.

What is it "fixed" to?

Oh I don’t disagree on your point that money is backed by air now. That’s the whole basis of FIAT in FIAT currency.

But your second statement is technically incorrect and related to why inflation has not occurred with the last decade of fiscal policy. Just because they don’t argue the fact doesn’t mean this supposed fact is correct. It isn’t with regard to hard currency and the relation to GDP.

There is around $1.8T in hard US currency in existence. The national debt is around $16T?

Debt /= hard currency.

"Personality leads to profession." Never heard it put that succinctly before. I'll have to steal that one.

Personality leads to profession, and then when you're around people who are similar to you your whole career, it just reinforces it.

Is inflation only possible when you print lots of currency?

If, instead of minting a coin, the USG simply sold $2 trillion of treasuries to the Fed and deposited the money in everyone's bank accounts, would that be inflationary? (no new dollar bills are printed)

It’s outlined in the investopedia link. Go educate yourself.
