Perhaps isn't wasn't committable?
Damn that Les Miles, why offer kids if they aren't guaranteed a spot or the offer is not committable? Smh. Don't offer the kid if you aren't willing to accept his commitment. I hope this isn't happening at other schools around the nation 🙄🤔
LSU does do a little better with it. I believe they fill their class with closer to 175 offers vs our 350+. I think 150-175 is very reasonable.
Why is 175 any more reasonable than 350 or 3500? That is still more offers than available spots. Your arbitrary unwritten recruiting guidelines change with the wind.
No, I've said I think you can build a class with around 150 or so offers. What's the difference between 350 and 175? IMO a lot. At 350 we are devaluing the offer. Its not a big deal to get a UT offer anymore. 60 kids show up at camp and 50 leave with an offer. We never hear anything else on 30 of them who got offers. At 175 obviously there are a lot less out there. Its more exclusive. When kids with UT offers are signing with FAU or Temple IMO it shows the evaluations are NOT being done before throwing out the offers
There's a lot of difference in 10000 offers and 5000 offers too, but it's irrelevant because there aren't 10000 spots, 5000 spots, 350 spots, or 175 spots. So all the offers can't and won't be honored. It's just silly of you to arbitrarily decide what is a proper amount of offers to issue.
350 just seems like a lot of worthless offers to me. I've pointed out Fulmer, Kiffin, and Dooley didn't do it. I get its a Butch thing. Just not a fan of it. IMO schools not doing it can negative recruit you if you do, especially when you're always right near the top of number of offers extended.
That's fine. I just think the same argument could be made that 175 offers seems like a lot of worthless offers as well for 25 spots.
I've tried but no one else seems to so what's the point. I just mock him and waste his time. That's my goal. I hope every 3 star gets booted so his head explodes. I hope Butch hands out thousands of offers.
Crunchy--serious question--why are you so convinced that asking some commits to look around is such a problem? We may not like the feel of it, but what evidence do you have that it's been a problem for us?
It's just my opinion. Recruiting has fallen off quite a bit. I'm sure it's lots of things, but I see some areas where the problems are self inflicted.

I understand you believe that but I'm wondering what causes you to have that opinion. I haven't seen or heard any comments from recruits that lead me to conclude that's the basis for recruiting decisions (although I know Tim Hart last year was quite upset).
It's crazy that I get more p***ed off reading supposed UT fans comments on this board than rival team posters. Become almost unbearable the negativity.
