Stormy Daniels sues Trump

Fox News quoting "people familiar with the matter."

Wonder where Trump gets his "many people are saying" commentary.
It works both ways. This morning on CNBC, Eamon Javers was bloviating about a "senior white house official" saying at a presser on Friday THAT HE WAS ATTENDING, hinted that the NoKo summit was definitely off. Not stating it as fact... hinting at it. And he then blasted President Donald Trump because his tweets were optimistic that they could still salvage the meeting on the 12th. And furthermore... he did not name the official.... THAT HE PERSONALLY HEARD.... why is that LG? Wouldn't a member of the media not be giddy at the possibility to throw a member of the Trump administration under the bus? Why would he then go to the trouble to keep that official's name out of it?

Identifying just the placement of the person isn't great, I'd agree, but it is better than "people are saying."

Presumably, the official spoke on condition of anonymity, which is not uncommon. Sometimes its a false flag, i.e. the person is in fact authorized and indeed charged with the task of making the statement, for some political reason.

Seems to me like this could be to reduce expectations as Trump has probably over-promised a complete result for the summit.

Condition of anonymity in a press conference? Seriously?

And if Trump over promises and under delivers that is much more ammo for the leftists that he is incompetent.
You're losing it LG.

If it was a public statement why is it being criticized here to begin with?

An off the record press briefing?

Why have the freeking briefing?

Evidently it is not uncommon. There are many reasons given for why. In the case of this one, it was said to provide context. IMO, it was to temper expectations relative to Trump's propensity for overselling.

For those interested, here is an old article that provides some insight into the practice.

White House background briefings: Good journalism or anonymous government spin? - The Washington Post

For those living in the bubble, I'm sure Info Wars will come out with a deep state conspiracy story that you can embrace.

IT's the lefties that have their panties all twisted bruh. I think most everybody else is in a wait and see mode regarding the NoKo talks. Ya;ll are so desperate to chain the man down that this is just another 'reason' to criticize.

For the umpteenth time, I'm hoping he is successful in this effort. Who wouldn't be hopeful?

The reality is that the N Koreans are even more erratic than Trump. So who knows what will happen.

Trump is liable to go off the rails and offer them statehood.

Sometimes, you can be rational and reasonable in your posting on here.

Then you go full tard like you did with the last portion.

Your chosen party since they giggled like little schoolgirls when the summit fell through. Or went full tard (like your last comment) by thinking (yet again) the end of the world is right around the corner with the cancellation.

Trump is playing a way different style of negotiation in regards to North Korea unlike his predecessors. We'll see how it turns out. But you should be contacting your so called "representatives" in the DNC and telling them to STFU and get behind the President instead of running their mouths trying to earn that 15 second soundbite on CNN.

Porn star Stormy Daniels' media-loving lawyer was reprimanded Wednesday by a federal judge who said his "publicity tour" must end if he wants a formal role in the case regarding the investigation of Michael Cohen.

Manhattan Federal Court Judge Kimba Wood said that Michael Avenatti's frequent comments in the press regarding President Trump's personal attorney were improper.

If Avenatti intervenes in the case over the April 9 FBI raid on Cohen's law office and residences, Wood said, he'd have to change his tune.

"You cannot declare your opinion as to Mr. Cohen's guilt, which you did. You would not be able to give publicity to documents," Wood said.

"You're entitled to publicity. I can't stop you - unless you're participating in a matter before me."

Judge tells Stormy Daniels lawyer he must stop his 'publicity tour' if he wants role in Cohen case - NY Daily News
