Stranger Things

Yes, the final season was picked up by Netflix. I was merely joking about the review. The acting, production, and story line were good but the overall pace was just painfully slow.

Seattle gloomy too.

just finished the show. Holy Cow, what a great series. the music was perfect and not just the 80's but the keyboard synth fit perfectly. it looks like season 2 is in production. i'm going to watch it again with the wifey.

The intro makes me grin every time; reminds me of all my favorite 80's films

I absolutely loved it! Captured the era of my youth brilliantly.

I wonder about the future direction of the series though. Will they move forward with the same cast and setting or fully overhaul it each season a la true detective? My hope is that they stay in the same era and move forward with the same characters.

Good first season. My experience says Netflix original series writing falls off a cliff in following seasons. We'll see on this.

They're in their 80s so for a movie with gang of kids as the hero's to be relevant it would have to have Spanky, Buckwheat and Alfalfa in it :)

(wonder how many people in this forum even know what I'm talking about)

I do

Might want to put in a spoiler alert for those who haven't watched as much as you

Certainly a good courtesy call... I think if its already happened in the show, it's fair game to discuss. One assumes a certain amount of spoiler risk coming in here if they haven't watched the show yet

yeah, i pretty much agree with this. Certainly a good courtesy call, but at this point, it's not that big of a deal imo show has been out for a month now. at this point, people should be wary of reading everything in here until they finish/catch-up.

that's one thing that's a bit annoying with these Netflix streaming series. All the episodes get released at once, so it's tough to discuss on the internet because not everyone is watching at the same pace. I'd say a month is probably long enough to be keeping discussions in spoiler tabs. tough call for sure though. everybody should at least be cautious about it.

You're right. I actually don't know myself... I assumed as much. Sounds like I'm on the right track. Sorry future post readers.

I'm watching chapter 5 tonight. I'll try to be more aware of what I'm blabbing about.

I'm not a horror fan by any stretch, but this show is worth the watch just for all the '80s reminiscence.

I can't imagine the logistics of turning a town into a whole different era. Cars, bikes, building facades, all those costumes... it's amazing work.

As other posters have said, not a big deal at all. No worries. Most have probably already made it that far or should know that there could be stuff in this thread.

No harm, no foul. Enjoy it! 2nd half of the season we couldn't stop watching, blew through the episodes.

Toothless kid makes me laugh non stop

Toothless kid is most definitely a nod to the character "Chunk" from The Goonies.

Starting it tonight, wife wants to know if it's "scary." I didn't expect it to be, but the intro has me doubting.
