In the same manner I heard the talk about Duke Crews, I heard about 2-3 weeks ago some whispers on the street about one of our current basketball players. I didn't want to run with it then because it was just street talk.

Well, just heard on the Saturday sports show in Knoxville (1180 AM) that there is now some talk about the basketball team maybe having a scholarship available and a player being asked to leave.

They guy involved in the talk I heard about a few weeks ago was Tatum, but I'm not certain if the player mentioned this morning is Tatum or not.

Anybody heard anything?

Really big loss if true. We would be guranteed no offense for the next 3 years.

Because Tatum has been so consistently dominant this year. In fact, I now better understand his consistent no shows.

hopsons to soft to have any potential. so far hes been a bust.

No he isn't. He simply wont gett after it if he has a slow start. He was never going to live up to his billing, but he is big time athletic with good touch and good range.

hahaha wtf? to soft to have potential? hahahah do u even know what potential means? now if u said that he is to soft to be a great player then that wld be a better arguement. however potential means its possible he could be a great player. again he's a frsh, some guys it takes time to reach their potential. it drives me nuts ppl on here are so critical of true freshman. they don't understand its a huge jump from hs to college ball. some guys adapt quicker than others, but u have to rem. these are 18-19 yr olds playing guys who are in older and physically more mature.

Give me a break, Tatum has been way more inconsistent than Hopson this year.

Not that i want him to leave, but let's not act like he's been that good this year.

Hopson may air ball free throws occasionally - but he still makes them in the basket more than Tatum - get a clue.

Ya, because of the peculiar trajectory of his shot you will tend to see more airballs, but that doesn't make the shot 'worse'. Simply look at %s to get at the true answer.

I always thought Tatum looked sleepy. Now I know it was a result of the hippie lettuce. If this is true, and he saw first-hand that CBP booted Ramar and Duke, then he's Mensa material.

Scotty has an immense amount of potential that we're all still waiting to see. Cam does too, although to a lesser extent. Offensively, you can tell Cameron is more of a shooter, and Scotty at least tries to shoot off the bounce and create plays. I just don't see that from Cameron right now.

Either way, losing Cameron would be pretty big.
