Streets are talking again

Tatum hasn't done much of anything since the G'town game. sad, but not that big of a loss if true.
Yeah, putting up 20 in the first half against Gonzaga wasn't much of anything. Scorers have streaks like that when they are Freshmen. He's streaky, not consistent. Doesn't mean over the next 3 years he won't hone his game to become more consistent.

God, I love revisionist history.

That Gonzaga team makes Florida's D look good.

Tatum also also next to no lift when shooting either. His heels barely come up. He will get his shots blocked twice as much.

And LOL at him saying Tatum has a better knack for getting open.
He does have a knock for getting open better than Hopson does. It's called hustle. I'm not saying the kid goes all out all the time, but he shows more willingness to move his butt than Hopson. Difference of programs growing up I guess. Hopson could physically dominate most of the kids in Kentucky HS and AAU one on one. Tatum always had to work a little harder because he is not as physically gifted a player as Hopson.

BTW, that is why I think Tatum will have a more productive COLLEGE career than Hopson. If he's keeping his nose clean that is.

20 in a half against any major D1 program is not easy to come by without some offensive talent. They aren't Savannah St.

With the 3, big halves happen a lot. Shoddy d on the other side helps immensely. He was on fire, but has done that exactly twice.

He misses too many shots left and right to be a great shooter.

Never said great shooter. Scorer is another thing entirely. Remember, this kid has 3 more offseasons to become more consistent and a better overall player.

Until that year comes, this is all just opinions. Mine is just better.:p

he scored those points as a shooter, not a scorer.

Uhhh got it on 1st hand knowledge that more than 1 or 2 like the left hand cigs on this team. Don't know how they keep a team fielded if they are truly testing.

I watched my last minutes of this team on sat.

Thank you, I watched and remember the game. Shooting (outside as we are discussing) is one part of scoring. It is not all of scoring. Last time, let his game develop over the course of more than one season before making presumptions. See the big picture. The long term.

Forget discussing Tatum's offensive skills. His a defensive liability. He hustles his butt off but he just doesn't have it athletically to hang with guards who have any quickness.

Many a great 6th man (re: 20ppg scorers) have made millions without being able to guard my twice broken hip grandmother.

That's slim pickens right there. If a player wants to make it into the league...he better have some D skills.

I just don't understand why some of these college kids want to throw away their free education by smoking pot. Not to mention playing sports. I know they are young and want the "college experience", been there myself, but athletes are held to a higher standard then the average college student. They have to have seen what happens when one gets caught smoking.

He's had a year and a half in the program, and played in games against GOOD competition last year. He's had much more experience and Hopson is still outperforming him.

That is probably the best way to evaluate a shooter...Great shooters do not miss left and right...they miss short and long.

I see the big picture. he's the closest thing to a set shooter I've seen in the SEC for the past 10 years and he has made roughly two drives all season. His FT shooter is abysmal. Where's the big picture?

its gotta be the reefer,man...
I made that assumption a while ago, but now I think the problem is that he's a low IQ clown who spends all his time worried about what everyone thinks. That's why he went with the candy cane socks, wears the yarmulke headband, wore those godawful shoes at KY, picks fights regularly, runs his mouth at opposing benches, coaches and players and is generally an attention whore.
