And it would serve to exacerbate their entitlement mindset about UK hoops.
I've been saying since last year, when the movement to run Tubby out of town began to gain steam, that UK would learn a harsh lesson when they change coaches. Class appears to be in session.

Did you put them anywhere near Alabama football on the class seating chart?

Alabama had a horrible football coach in place. Almost anyone would have been an improvement. That's the difference between their situation and where Kentucky finds themselves.

Here's an idea for the next wrestlemania:

Travis Ford vs. John Pelphrey in a no holds barred cage match in Rupp. The winner gets the job.

Hopefully it can come down to Ford,Pelphrey,or Crean. Ford vs. Pelphrey would be something to see though.

In it to win it like Winston Bennett baby.

The undercard can be Laettner Vs. Amino Timberlake in a grudge match.

I can see the pre match interviews, "Is Richie gonna play tonight?" Whooo.

You said UK would be taught a harsh lesson. I, for one, have serious doubts as to whether the majority of the fanbase responsible for the detubbification will ever learn anything.

The sad part is, with Donovan, Calipari, and Barnes removed from consideration, there is not a coach available that would be considered an upgrade from the guy who just climbed on the bus to Minnesota.

Call it a tragicomedy. Tragic for them, comical for the rest of us. If there's anything Kentucky basketball fans need, it's a heaping serving of humility.

It's hilarious on catspause the number of people mentioning Matta and Pearl.

They need to realize all the coaches in the world aren't going to drop everything and come to Kentucky.

This entire scneario is very reminiscent of Florida trying to find a coach after Spurrier left. Not that Tubby Smith had the same kind of success or the same respect with the fans at the time of departure as did Spurrier, but its pretty clear that coaches are going to figure that, absent getting their first choice in Donovan, anyone who comes in and does not get to the FF pretty quick is going to be tarred and feathered by the fanbase.
