Many/most of the LVs have a very low ceiling for physical improvement. They are slow afoot, limited quickness and no jumping ability. They are what they are.
Conditioning and decision making can improve. Shooting ability can improve with proper coaching. Improved recruiting is a must if they LVs ever hope to win it all.
You could say that for 90 percent or more of women players in general. Of course better recruiting is needed to win it all. You also need more than talent like some luck as there are more than 10 teams that can win it all and it will be that way for now and forever. Parity has arrived.

If freshman are coming in and outplaying our juniors, that bodes well for the future. As far as fundamentals, I would also like us to be more fundamentally sound. Who wouldn't? As far as Key, sometimes she doesn't bring the ball down and sometimes she does. I think that she often brings it down while she is being jostled and bumped (mugged) when she is off balance and instinctively wants to protect it. Nobody's perfect, but I do agree with you that the team could be more sound in fundamentals. Passing comes to mind.
yes those lazy passes drive me crazy and i can imagine how CKH feels about them. They just keep doing that every game.

4 games out the six losses she had 0%

Well, that means she's playing up to the men's standards.

I really look forward to this season's final and complete stats analysis on shooting percentages in losses, and the correlation between individuals and team. For males and females, I've never seen so many games where all are hitting, or all are missing. I can't recall a Tennessee game this season where there was one hot hand that we could ride from 3, even for a half.

Anecdotal, I know... and may be another case of BVS-tilted perception... but I think there will be some reflection of it in the numbers. If it is real, tournament rosters are going to feature Jekyll or Hyde--but not both.

Every team has juniors trying to get there, and every team has freshman who make impacts in their frosh year and those who don't. We're no different.

I think the concern is we are no where near where we used to be in recruiting. I remember the days (and I’m not old) where we’d have 5 all American starters and 5 more all Americans coming off the bench. Now we’re bemoaning players needing 3 years to develop.

Yep, that's the nut we have to crack.

I thought they passed it better against SC. There was a lazy one here and there, but generally better. Not saying it's gonna be good enough, but if they can keep improving.............

Well, this sure is a constructive thread.....
It seems very wrong and unfair to put up a Freshman girl’s name as a thread title, especially after a loss. It invites criticism and she is new in school which is tough enough.

Do all schools have a site like this which can publicly embarrass a recruit or player? So many posters here are fans of other schools. Would this influence a girl in high school to avoid this type of possible public embarrassment/ridicule in front of everyone at school where she might commit to play?

I agree. I get to feeling bad whenever someone starts picking on players by name. Especially if it's personal. Personal comments about players should be out of bounds on these boards, and people should be flagged for making them. It's a fine line between critiquing their basketball skills and play and attacking them for things they can't control - such as talent level. I just try to make sure not to write anything that might be taken as personal or disrespectful. And that is especially true for freshmen. To me, freshmen almost always should get the benefit of the doubt.

In other words, we used to be the South Carolina team that just pounded us...

Please see my added edit. I know people say players are used to criticism and should ignore this site, not trying to start that discussion again, but do people not remember the insecurities of youth, especially trying to fit in at college? If you know people are talking about you in a public forum, especially if you are a kid, don’t you look? That is just human nature.

Maybe this site could at the least, make some new rules about thread titles? Are we hurting our own recruiting?

Just like cow bell, I would like to see more Striplin. For the life of her, Emily cannot understand leverage. Playing with upper body and arm waving

IDK but expect a lot of them never went to college so they don’t know what the course load is like. Probably most never played organized sports in school let alone college. They make believe they know all about the player psyche and what these young women are going through even though most complainers are male.

she can not score if others do not pass ball when she open. better not take away from others driving to basket and shoting right in the defeners face and throwing up wild shots. lets not pass the ball looking for and opened shoting. and for sure do not set picks.
Tear them a new ass mudcat!

At this point of the season, that falls on coaching more than personnel...
