I think the concern is we are no where near where we used to be in recruiting. I remember the days (and I’m not old) where we’d have 5 all American starters and 5 more all Americans coming off the bench. Now we’re bemoaning players needing 3 years to develop.
Yes, Like we had in 2017-2018 and we went 8 and 8 in the SEC. The only team with a lot of All Americans in their roster this year in D1 is basically Carolina and we see their offense goes away from time to time and are beatable. Missouri showed everyone that. The other teams with a lot of All Americans on their rosters are Standford, Connecticut, Notre Dame. Take Notre for instance. They have 6 High School All - Americans on that roster plus Olivia Miles who would have been an all-American but entered college early and they have 6 losses and sit in 3rd place in the ACC. Most notably, the leaders for North Carolina State whose leading the ACC are a bunch of 4 stars out of high school with a couple 5 stars sprinkled in. Then look at duke at 7-9 in the ACC with a whole bunch of former high school All Americans. Kara Lawson put together what looked like what should be an amazing team with experienced players who were High school All Americans, but they aren't winning.

this is her freshmen year. she said i get last year back.
Darby, while not making a three this last game, did a good/decent job defensively(except two of those 3s made were speed related defensive liabilities on her part) and got a put back and a had a nice midrange jumper go in. She’s stated this feels like a freshman season to her so if that’s the case, she’ll be fine nice season and even better the year after. Striplin is a freshie but she’s good. How good remains to be seen but she looks like a player who needs reps to find the speed of the game. I like Em but Striplin is who will have to backup TK. When Emily is in every team knows they can make a run of 6-8 unanswered points and that’s where the game gets lost.

It seems very wrong and unfair to put up a Freshman girl’s name as a thread title, especially after a loss. It invites criticism and she is new in school which is tough enough.

Do all schools have a site like this which can publicly embarrass a recruit or player? So many posters here are fans of other schools. Would this influence a girl in high school to avoid this type of possible public embarrassment/ridicule in front of everyone at school where she might commit to play?

Agree 100%. Always be kind and respectful to the ladies wearing orange and white. There is no place for public humiliation --or humiliation of any kind.

Depends on the athlete,,,some want the pressure and expectations
but agree with @Volfaninfl2 putting her name is the title is a little too too

Tess was deadly from 3 tonight...
Miss. State 5-6 from 3, 6-5 overall.

Yes, great 3 point shooting from Tess. Tremendous improvement and devolopment since her freshman year. And Striplin, striplin, striplin nailed a beautiful 3 pointer in the 2nd half. And her smile afterwards was contagious. She's always so positive, and she is her teammates biggest cheerleader when on the bench. She is a definite asset to the program and has a very bright future as a Lady Vol!
