people are asking why strong would go to texas after turning us down? 5-$25,000,000 vs 5-$15,000,000 from us. thats a big difference

If Charles leaves, Frankster is a strong possibility to Louisville. I don't see "Vannerbelt" coughing up the cash to keep him. I want him to stay at Vandy so we have the pleasure of seeing him as we return to using VU as our personal Charmin tiisue.

OK say we did hire Charlie Strong last year instead of Butch Jones. There is no way we can out bid Texas. And Charlie leaves after one year ( pulled a Lane Kiffin) and we are right back from where we started. We got the right coach in Butch Jones. Recruiting will get us back on top. He has us number 2 on Rivals right now. And we haven't had a winning season in how many years.

Or the Raleigh-Durham area...?

NO contest that moving to Louisville is a MAJOR step DOWN in lifestyle. No matter WHAT the $s are. Outside of Memorial Day weekend...Louisville is a HOLE.

Durham is a little different. It's almost Memphis bad. But Raleigh is nice.

Yeah, U of L went 12-1 but their schedule was far worse than even Candy's

Texas isn't a better program than UT, isn't in the premier college football conference. What texas does have is a TON of money--and a state full of good football players. But texas actually has been a great underachiever, IMO, over the last 40 years. Given their advantages, how many national titles have they won--one in the last 20 plus years? Strong is not worth $5 million--absurd, scandalous amount of money to be paying a football coach--and he won't find it so easy to win, even in a much easier conference.

Honestly I don't care.

I never wanted him. I didn't think he would click at UT. And after seeing butch operate I'm even happier we didn't get strong. I'll take what we have 10 to 1

Glad we didn't get Strong - ever hear that guy in a presser?Dumb as a rock. Everyone talks about his recruiting of Florida, he pulls all the criminals that the big 3 in Floida pass up. He is not that great of a recruiter. The last two years he rode Bridgewater and without a strong QB he will be exposed as the bad coach he is....

We are much better off..GBO

With a bad QB 95% of coaches would look bad. Secondly, I haven't heard of a lot of UofL players getting arrested. You call him dumb because he doesn't speak much that's just his personality man. Stop be so critical of people for their successes.

It's really all in the eye of the beholder, to each his own.

It should be easier to win at Texas than Tennessee (and Tennessee has been in a downturn program wise the last few years) but MY TENNESSEE is no chump job either.

You can either embrace the challenge that comes with TENNESSEE or coast on the job and play an Ohio State-like schedule.
