Solid hire but a warning to A&M fans. Get ready to be happy and really mad. Even ND exposed his weakness.
The weakness this year was zone read with a running QB... despite how things turned out and what is popular to talk about. He is a good defensive coordinator, not sure its going to help TAM as I have been suspect for some time that a new DC would help much.
How many times when he was our DC, did we see the exact same thing that happened to LSU last night against Notre Dame?? Opposition gets the ball last goes down the field and scores last minute winning the game? I really like Chavis, but let somebody else have him.Hold on a minute!!!
Remember in 2008, we all complained that Chavis was old and he cost us games by playing the prevent defense?
Remember we said that the only reason he stayed at Tennessee so long was because no one else wanted him to be their defensive co ordinator?
I say we don't make the same mistake twice. Let him stay at L.S.U. or head to A & M.
Remember, we wished that he would go elsewhere and he did. So, we got what we wished!!!!
Bo Pelini should have waited a few weeks.
Unless A&M also signed all those DT and corners LSU has....
Hold on a minute!!!

Y'all can discredit his accomplishments to fill your own agendas all you want to. I'm tickled we have him and excited to see how much of an impact he has on recruiting the best La and Tx have to offer. We've finally invested in trying to contend for the West and I am hopeful this hire, & those that coincide with it, prove to be a turning point to address the putrid defense we've experienced the last decade.
