Recruiting rankings are a strong indicator of defensive success. Recruiting rankings are not as strong an indicator of offensive success.. meaning you can scheme less talented offenses to success but the players on D need to be talentedEven if good SEC are bedazzled with a fast offense which is doubtful, you have to also play defense. I’d take a more talented roster rather than relying on a better scheme.

No they didn’t.
Any decent coach should be able to beat Kentucky every year with a decent roster. It’s took historical bad Tennessee teams for Kentucky to finally beat us. That’s not impressive.
Where do you clowns come up with this sh*t?
Who is good in the SEC? Bama is another level. UGA, FL.....scheme can pull an upset over their talent. Not every time, and of course more talent would be better, but I’m coming from a place where we have sucked for 15 years.
A&M? Don’t play every year.
LSU? Don’t play every year.
Everyone else is average at best. Even if you chalk up 3 losses for the aforementioned teams on our schedule every year + sometimes 1 OOC loss, that’s 8-4. Win the OOC game and you’re 9-3.
The series is 2-2 in the last 4 yearsBecause with Pruitt gone, we will kick that Wildcat azz just like we have done for years when JG wasn’t the Kentucky QB throwing TD’s all over the field to their DB’s. Even a Pruitt led team beat them in 18 and 19. We will beat Kentucky this year in the grocery store. Clean up aisle 6 please.
What was Mike, 3-7 this year?
Yes coaching a new team with a roster that doesn’t fit his scheme. Prob take him a few years to find the right guys.
Not only has Mike Leach sustained success at each of his stops but he’s also done it after turning those programs around. And he’s not doing it with elite talent or with changing his scheme. His scheme just works.
And Mike Leach doesn’t utilize his running game like Heupel. Inherited Kylin Hill (the leading SEC rusher) and didn’t use him. Big difference.Yes coaching a new team with a roster that doesn’t fit his scheme. Prob take him a few years to find the right guys.

Its not as if they had a QB either. They had the worst QB in the SEC. Any improvement in that area is massive improvement for their team as a whole. If they have so much as a slightly below average passing game with that line and those RBs thats a completely different team. They have that record while running the ball every play and the other team knowing exactly what they're going to do.With arguably the worst qb and hc in Vol history. If uk is only .500 in those circumstances, then the future doesn’t look good for their success.
