Even if good SEC are bedazzled with a fast offense which is doubtful, you have to also play defense. I’d take a more talented roster rather than relying on a better scheme.
Recruiting rankings are a strong indicator of defensive success. Recruiting rankings are not as strong an indicator of offensive success.. meaning you can scheme less talented offenses to success but the players on D need to be talented

Was just told it’s okay to discuss so here it does. Unless they are playing a joke on everyone or have a change of heart b/t now and 4pm Friday , the wins will commit to Kentucky.
Throughout the day and evening they have told other friends within Summit High.

Thanks Jimmy

Who is good in the SEC? Bama is another level. UGA, FL.....scheme can pull an upset over their talent. Not every time, and of course more talent would be better, but I’m coming from a place where we have sucked for 15 years.

A&M? Don’t play every year.

LSU? Don’t play every year.

Everyone else is average at best. Even if you chalk up 3 losses for the aforementioned teams on our schedule every year + sometimes 1 OOC loss, that’s 8-4. Win the OOC game and you’re 9-3.

No they didn’t.

Any decent coach should be able to beat Kentucky every year with a decent roster. It’s took historical bad Tennessee teams for Kentucky to finally beat us. That’s not impressive.

Where do you clowns come up with this sh*t?

Ok but we didn't. So if we're dealing with now, they passed us. It may change, but Kentucky is a better program than us at this point, period.

I get that. Jones, who no one thought was a scheme genius, was 9-4 two years based on talent. Your argument is we can be that level again using scheme and less talent. That could be true but the ceiling is limited without the talent piece.

scheme works a year or two, maybe more, but to last or maintain success, you better have talent. Coaches will catch up with schemes eventually, that is why great coaches make changes to their style, even small tweaks....Saban is a perfect example of this. So was Bear and SOS.

Because with Pruitt gone, we will kick that Wildcat azz just like we have done for years when JG wasn’t the Kentucky QB throwing TD’s all over the field to their DB’s. Even a Pruitt led team beat them in 18 and 19. We will beat Kentucky this year in the grocery store. Clean up aisle 6 please.
The series is 2-2 in the last 4 years

we can let this saying die along with all memories of potato head
This is the only thing I truly ever agreed with him on.... I have stressed many times over players that ended up to be nothing..... disappointed in many others that turned out to be studs.

What was Mike, 3-7 this year?

Yes coaching a new team with a roster that doesn’t fit his scheme. Prob take him a few years to find the right guys.

Not only has Mike Leach sustained success at each of his stops but he’s also done it after turning those programs around. And he’s not doing it with elite talent or with changing his scheme. His scheme just works.

I dont believe Leach has won a conference championship and certainly has never been a consistent contender for conference or national honors. He's been a 7-4, 7-5 coach majority of his career, beating the average to bad teams consistently. I was speaking of winning conference championships, something this program used to think of. Thats why i referenced Saban, Bryant and Spurrier, all consistent winners of SEC championships. In no stretch of even Mike Leach's imagination does he consider himself in that category.

And Mike Leach doesn’t utilize his running game like Heupel. Inherited Kylin Hill (the leading SEC rusher) and didn’t use him. Big difference.

With arguably the worst qb and hc in Vol history. If uk is only .500 in those circumstances, then the future doesn’t look good for their success.
Its not as if they had a QB either. They had the worst QB in the SEC. Any improvement in that area is massive improvement for their team as a whole. If they have so much as a slightly below average passing game with that line and those RBs thats a completely different team. They have that record while running the ball every play and the other team knowing exactly what they're going to do.
