It is generally a pretty good indicator. Definitely should be by year 3, for sure.

Talk to Joker Phillips. Stoops has proven a much better hire than Cornbread, Botch, or Dools. I would like to see what he would have done at FSU.

Sure but we are vandy level right now. If Heupel is as good a coach as stoops we will surpass them in due time. But dumbass plowman has made this a really awful job that’ll take 4-5 years to fix. Sort of like how stoops had to rebuild from nothing. I hope we are as patient

I will be very patient. Some of the other posters here, not so much. There are people calling for White and Barnes to be fired, LOL.

Steadily building 4-6 in conference last year while also finishing much worse in recruiting than us.... The twins are going to Kentucky bc of the longer relationship.....hopefully our tram can surprise a few people this year.

Because this is Tennessee, we can dig out of the hole much faster IF we get the right coach. Heupel is the best hire we have made in a long time imo. We'll find out soon.

But UT isn't "cursed". Other good coaches haven't come here because they didn't want to lose to Nick Saban and Alabama every year.


Kiffin with all his coaching ability is not a stable hire. Dooley, Butch, and Pruitt speak for themselves.

We still may continue to lose to Alabama, but the days of losing to UK, Vandy, South Carolina periodically are over.

Please don't compare Bama and Kentucky. We've had a historically bad run since Dooley was hired and are 9-2 against Kentucky. Stoops is 2-6 against UT and beat them in the final years that coaches got fired. He has a one game winning streak. Total overreaction by some on here.
