That’s been the conversation for going on 12 years now. Eventually I guess people will give up but every year it’s......”we can dig ourselves out of this”
that was 10 years of digging into a hole. Now that we have stop digging the hole, we will start filling in the hole. With a hole as deep as we it was, it may take a little longer to fill it in/up.

Callahan with the crystal ball flips to UK. No point in even watching this today. UK it is. What a joke. Lol
Failed to close when we had the lead. Bought into Vols aren’t a winner and stoops negatively recruiting to the max. However, Kentucky hasn’t been a winner either so good luck with that narrative.

Wow, way to flip the script from what has been openly reported. One of the twins was given an opportunity by KY at QB. Game changer. Move on.

And for the record, I'm not for false promises causing disgruntled players, so I'm cool if we don't go there.

QB is the least of our worries right now.

Stoops is giving out promises he might not be able to keep, could backfire on his a$$.

Oh well, next.

I’m wildly uninterested in these two to begin with. Seems like it’s always been a bad deal if we had to take both. Oh well, Kentucky will be Kentucky.

That’s not flipping the script....it happened. Yes part of their pitch was Destin at QBs. Stoops is also pitching Tennessee getting a 3-4 year ban. Kentucky used negative recruiting as much as or more than others. That’s been mentioned many times.

The kid bought the “you’re our guy” approach after Wimsatt left, but the issue is we had a lead with instate talent and struggled to close on them. It is what it is

I wonder if the NCAA penalties aren't too harsh, this team has a decent season, or this squad simply beats UK if these two would want to reconsider?

I mean, you should worry about QB. Sounds like the QBs on the roster now struggle vertically on a consistent basis.. that can change, but it’s not like Peyton Manning is back there taking snaps this season, and he isn’t signed to play next season. I think I get what you are saying in that, he wasn’t going to be the QB so that shouldn’t worry anyone!

Saw both (especially Keaton) as impact athletes for the defense. If they stick with Kentucky, Stoops will have them there yesterday. Didn’t have a problem with dangling the QB chance in either Jauan Jennings or Jimmy Holiday’s recruitments...but there’s something redeemable in honesty.

We’re also likely to land 4* QB Tayven Jackson so it would be extremely unlikely one of the Wade brothers would get a shot at QB here.

I guess Heupel could have lied to them but didn’t see the reason to do so.

“Struggled to close” is the new “we didn’t lie”. Next.

No big Loss here .. move on ... the QB will not start at QB at KY .. but if he does I'll be glad he does ..cause we have and will have better .. the LB now would liked to have had him but I dont think he was a Vol lean at anytime other than following brother ... so not a biggy to me .

You seem to be warming up to Heupel.

I agree though. Just keep the positive environment inside the program going then go out and show some good things on the field. Then you can be honest with recruits and let UT help sell itself.

I don't really know what options these kids had. If UK is really their best other option... I'm not sure why everyone is so upset. Of course they may flip the script and commit to UT... then they'll be the best coup ever :D:D:D

There may not be a spot for them at that point...
Just a theory. I think Tennessee is about to display one of the more exciting offenses in the country this season. I believe we are going to close really strong after winning 7 games.

Wasn’t jazzed when it became apparent that Heupel was the hire, but I admire technical coaching chops and I believe in that aspect of his resume. Recruiting is a dog eat dog world and you can’t be afraid to mix it up. We’ll see if he has the stomach for the elite SEC level. Right now I see a lot of David Cutcliffe, who takes a back seat to no one in coaching up the talent he lands but didn’t indicate elite SEC program building at Ole Miss...short audition as it was. I like how he built his staff around a quality trusted core of Ellarbe, Golesh and Hazle and the seeming autonomy he’s given his DC hire...yet doesn’t go full Steve Spurrier and ignore that side of the ball. And it’s refreshing that he allows his assistants to be a non-mystery. Lot of hopeful potential, just got to let it play out. All of that to say, no recruits are going to make or break his legacy...it’ll be the compilation. There is enough talent for him to display a program recruits should want to be participants. Smoke and mirrors clear up on the field.

Yep. I like him and am rooting for him too.

Yeah, I think we were about even with bama in wins and losses against each other a few years ago. How is that working out now? Stoops seems to be a good coach and ky. Recruiting looks better every year. We have a deep hole to dig out of. Hope we do it soon.

No you don’t.
