Superman vs Batman movie coming in 2015!

Parademons.... that was a pretty cool scene.

Looks like Affleck gets to direct his own Batman movie.

He's writing it with DC Creative Director/Comic writer Geoff Johns. That could be good.

However, if you didn't like Green Lantern, consider this. Johns was the writer of GL for close to a decade. His run was epic. The movie gleaned most of its plot points form his run and he was very involved in the production of that movie.

FTR I still think GL was good enough for a sequel.

Finally got around to seeing this, lengthy'ish review coming...

Summary: Everything about the movie was good except the Directing, Zack Snyder should be fired without pay. Affleck as Batman was terrific, Gadot's Wonder Woman will have you excited for the WW movie, Eisenberg made a surprisingly good Lex, I even thought Superman was much better in this one.

First 30-45 minutes of the movie: This isn't terrible. I'm intrigued. It's a bit all over the place, and DC will have to do much better than this to compete with Marvel, but this has potential. I'm not sure what all the complaining is about.

Next hour and a half: Ok what in the world is going on in this movie?? This is completely unorganized. Clark Kent is at work, now Batman is having a vision, now Lex Luthor is talking about God-knows-what, now Batman is doing some science stuff, now Superman is in a bathtub with Lois, now Batman is working out, now Superman is saving a family from a rooftop, now there's this girl who will obviously be Wonder Woman, now Superman is saving someone else, Batman is having a vision again, the State Senator can't make up her mind, annddd another Batman vision. I'm some terrible combination of bored and confused at this point. Again.... fire Snyder immediately.

Final 30-45 minutes: This has actually gotten really good, surprisingly. The Batman/Superman fight was great (although the way the fight ends was kind of "meh"), Batman just took down 24 guys in a warehouse within about 30 seconds in what was easily the best scene of the movie, the final fight against the giant god-like "Doomsday" is very entertaining and Wonder Woman is stealing the show (she's as good of a fighter as she is absurdly hot), Batman is also holding his own against D-day with his quickness and ability to outmaneuver him instead of trying to slug it out. Great finish to the movie. Very redeeming.

Ending: So-so. Not a bad setup for the future. I'm still very intrigued to see what DC brings to the table. Not the best start, but good enough that I'm ready for Suicide Squad and the latter films.

One thing that I noticed and liked about the final fight was when doomsday hit WW and knocked her way back. When she stopped she just looked back at him and smiled. That was cool.

They screened a copy of the Ultimate Edition last night in LA and its been getting some major positive reviews online today.

Most saying this is the film that should have been originally released and that WB screwed not only Snyder but themselves as well when they insisted it be trimmed from the nearly 3 hour run time. One person who saw it said this was the cut that wowed early screeners weeks before it was released in March. One reason it was given that WB cut it was that they were hoping for more money with more screenings and a 3 hour run-time limited the number of showings.

Here is part of one review

The cut we saw in March was more a Batman film about how he views Superman (probably because WB assumed Batman would help sell the film better than Superman would), but this cut is a Superman film through and through.....

Small details sprinkled throughout help add tension, emotion and stakes that were either absent before or not as prominently there. The film is slower, sure, but it work's for what Snyder is trying to pull off. There are at least five more scenes with Superman, Lex's plan makes a lot more sense, and the film just flows so much better as a whole....

The extended edition is a lot better then the theatrical version . They cut so many of superman scenes in this movie .

I'm 1:23 into the extended edition and it is putting me to sleep. Easily the most boring superhero movie I've ever seen. The dream sequences are dumber than they sounded when I read about them.

You're in the real meat of the crap parts now. It gets better. There's a scene later where Batman takes down 12 people at once and it's terrific.

I made it 1:45 in. Just after the big Senate hearing and Bruce's CrossFit montage. Couldn't keep me awake any longer. So far Superman has had about 10 min of screen time and Batman about 5 (counting Apocalypse dream sequence). I'll pick up the second half in a few days.

So far I can say it's not the worst superhero movie I've ever seen but I maintain its the most boring.

That's a pretty accurate summary. It does finish strong though. The final 30 minutes or so are pretty redeeming.

Picked it up tonight. Can't wait till this weekend... My daughter has already got movie night planned for us
