I am in that 25% positive poll of GVX and am on record numerous times over there trying to reduce the emotional garbage that is spewing forth from kneejerks that get all their info from the self avowed sports media experts instead of doing their own research.

I am very proud of the "man" they hired as our coach and am very hopeful his coaching skills translate into many great memories at TBA.

I supported DeVoe, Houston, O'Neill, Green, Peterson and Pearl.

Regardless what of I may think of a hire, being a fan I'm definitely going to support the coach and team whether he was my choice or not.

I'm going to miss Coach Pearl, but will certainly support Coach Martin. He's got his work cut out for him and he's going to need the fans support.

I'll support most anybody that has the ability to keep us out of negative press releases in the national media...I think I've aged 10 years in the last 15 months...

He is our coach and if you are a true UT fan, you will support the team and the coach that goes with it. I would have been happier with more of a "name" coach, but will support this hire fully.
I was wrong @ 1st, I now see the qualities he will bring. I am excited. Go Vols!!!
Welcome Coach Conzo!!!

Won't lie. When I heard he was our hire I was disappointed because he wasn't who I was expecting.

But after reading and getting over my ignorant shock, I am 100% behind Coach Zo! Cannot wait for basketball again in Tennessee!

Welcome aboard Coach Zo! Can't wait to shake your hand! :good!:

First off i want to say that i am embarrassed by the reaction of some of the Tennessee fans to this hire. I am not sure if they were expecting Phil Jackson or what? Let me start by going over the state of our basketball program, we have sanctions looming and the AD will more than likely be fired soon. With that being said, I feel fortunate that we got a coach like Cuonzo Martin to come here. This guy is a young up and comer that was going to take over the Purdue job if their coach leaves for Missouri. He gets praise from everyone that he has ever worked with and is highly regarded. His story should be able to relate to alot of the kids that we are trying to recruit and he can mentor these kids in a way much like what coach Dooley is doing with the football program. This guy basically went from homeless growing up to playing in the NBA, oh yeah then beat Lymphoma (cancer) at the age of 26. I believe that he will instill the integrity and dicipline that this team needs going forward, especially considering how soft we played this year. I am a fan of the University, so I am going to get behind our new coach and support the hell out of him until I have a reason not to. Go Big Orange!

Hey Coach!

Welcome to the University of Tennessee! Every school has its share of nay-sayers who'd rather spend their time making baseless criticisim than doing real research to base their opinions. I want to say I am glad to have you running our basketball program and wish you and your family the very best welcome to Tennessee and Knoxville. Go Vols!

I am all in! I watched his acceptance speech for the MVC Coach of the Year and feel like he will bring discipline to our program. I also feel that this guy will be able to recruit given some time after the sanctions. I am however basing my entire opinion on a video and know nothing of his ability to recruit or relate to players.

Been on this site for several years but rarely post. Thought I should maybe throw in my 2cts on the new coach. I have lived in Saint Louis for the last 29 years and my daughter is a student at Missouri State, graduating this May. Therefore, I have followed their BB program rather closely for the last 4 years and have been able to watch many of their games. CCM has totally turned the MSU BB program around. You always get the impression that he outcoaches whoever is sitting on the opposing bench. Simply put, he wins a lot of games with less talent than his opposition. He is an excellent motivator and a very strong game coach. Pushes hard work - defense and rebounding before offense. He rides his players rather hard but they seem to think the world of him. The only unknown is how well can he recruit in the SEC. He has strong ties in STL, Chicago, and Indianapolis but I have no idea beyond those areas. If he is able to pull a staff together with some SEC recruiting ties, I believe he will be very successful at UT. I like the hire, and believe he will do well in his new job. One last comment, all my friends here (Missouri fans) are quite upset as they were convinced he would be Anderson's replacement at Missou.
