Cool.

Another "count me in" thread.

Not quite as fun as the "we're about to get a great coach because we're UT basketball and Pearl did nothing special" thread but it's pretty close.

We're Gonzo for Cuonzo!

Edit: Never mind, I see somebody already has that for a username.

No matter who was hired we wouldn't know for a couple of years if it was a good hire or not. He seems qualified - more so than Dooley (who I'm very happy with) or Muschamp (I prefer Dooley). I like his press conference - answered every question well with no wasted words. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Been on this site for several years but rarely post. Thought I should maybe throw in my 2cts on the new coach. I have lived in Saint Louis for the last 29 years and my daughter is a student at Missouri State, graduating this May. Therefore, I have followed their BB program rather closely for the last 4 years and have been able to watch many of their games. CCM has totally turned the MSU BB program around. You always get the impression that he outcoaches whoever is sitting on the opposing bench. Simply put, he wins a lot of games with less talent than his opposition. He is an excellent motivator and a very strong game coach. Pushes hard work - defense and rebounding before offense. He rides his players rather hard but they seem to think the world of him. The only unknown is how well can he recruit in the SEC. He has strong ties in STL, Chicago, and Indianapolis but I have no idea beyond those areas. If he is able to pull a staff together with some SEC recruiting ties, I believe he will be very successful at UT. I like the hire, and believe he will do well in his new job. One last comment, all my friends here (Missouri fans) are quite upset as they were convinced he would be Anderson's replacement at Missou.
Very strong referral. Thanks.

His story should be able to relate to alot of the kids that we are trying to recruit

Unfortunately, there is little evidence that is why recruits choose a school or his story having such effect, as he finished toward the middle or bottom of the conference every year in recruiting at Missouri State and the vast mass of his tenure (with the exception of 1 season) at Purdue was not marked with recruiting success.
