Report: Communication between Butch Jones, police may have violated state law

The top comment on the Tennessee 24/7 page on Facebook was from someone who is a defense attorney. He said this article is essentially ridiculous, and that the only thing Jones could have possibly done wrong is tell a player to hide evidence. He is fully, legally able to contact them in this case.

Also, he said that potentially the police mishandled this investigation in their contacting Jones, not Jones.

This is just another attempt to keep this story in people's minds. At some point, one has to wonder about the motives of the Tennessean writers.

Which if im not mistaken the police took a condom out of the trash and a bowl for smoking pot. So they didn't hide anything, the plaintiffs attorney knows this case is losing stream so now they are throwing whatever they can at Anita. They both are looking foolish

The only evidence that appears to have been lost was evidence the plaintiffs had in their possession - their phones.

Could be wrong but it appears those filing the lawsuit put all their cards on the table at the start and expected UT to fold, fire folks, etc. And they got a very different reaction and are now surfacing things that when you look at them with everything else in mind don't really lead a person using common sense to draw the conclusion they would like a person to draw.

Would love to see UT win this suit and file suit against the plaintiffs, the Tennessean, and ESPN for defamation. If UT settles this case out of court I will never attend another UT sports function. There would be no valid excuses for UT to turn coward on this.

I like how the Tennessean is trying to paint Jones as a liar by offering phone records between Jones and AJ, then quoting Jones as saying, "I have not had any dialogue at all," when "asked specifically if he had conversations with the two players about the investigation." Well, "Jones was asked if he's maintained any communication with the two suspended defenders." (no mention of "about the investigation"). BIG difference.

UT judo rolled them and Anita. She and her paper are now reduced to "reporting" pure speculation as "news" i.e. the CBJ KPD collusion fabrication. The accusers and their promoters, no longer supporters, are on the defensive and well they should be.
