Syrian Kurds are close to declaring Independence

Starts with an “I” and rhymes with “sis” and it isn’t “I banged your sis.”

There is also a doctrinal element to national security. Showing weakness and abandoning allies are both doctrines that don’t undermine national security.
Are you talking about the “JV team?”

This is just a question no flaming ..How do you turn Northern Syria into Kurdistan ? Is there international support for that and would it take a ground war to make that happen ? I'd love for it to happen that they got their own country btw

You fight, win territory, take control of it and declare a nation. Just like ISIS did with the Caliphate. I believe there is international support for the Kurds to have their own country. They have been harassed and killed by the Turks, Syrians and other groups for centuries.

I understand your isolationism perspective. Most don't care about that, most care about how we treat our allies. Trump's allegiances can be flipped on a dime but the American value of honor is not so easily swayed when talking about the right thing to do.
Oh, and you didn't answer the question. WTF does a Kurdish state mean for the average American? How is that of benefit to Main Street USA?

You are nothing but a lickspittle Trumpette. No president with any sense of right and wrong would abandon our Kurdish allies, who helped defeat ISIS. Congressional Republicans and Democrats know this but our morally bankrupt president can't figure it out. I wonder if Trump is more worried about his Turkish hotel than human lives?
When was ISIS defeated?

I did, but I will repeat. Most don't care about that, most care about how we treat our allies. Do you believe in having allies?

How does having military allies halfway around the globe put milk in kid's cereal bowl or keep their dad's working?

What does putting milk in kid's cereal bowls have to do with abandoning allies on the battlefield? You can just come out and say you are cool with Trump's decision. The redhats will agree. We can bring all our troops home, start paying back our social programs, and then you can talk about putting milk in kids cereal bowls.

What's that? That's not the government's responsibility.

Sigh, I'm being serious here and you are here joking again.

Welcome back, btw.

Actually, I was being serious as well.

You are correct, we have too many problems here at home. One of which is children without a father figure in their lives because they up and leave.

I'm not sure that has an easy solution.

Did you GAF when the last 4 presidents abandoned them?

Look if what is reported is true and we are again abandoning the Kurds Trump needs to be run over the coals. But please don’t act like he is the first to do so.

Because that is the only thing that matters at the end of the day to the average American. Who gives a damn about allies that are in the Middle East. How does that feed your kids here on Main Street?

Your defense of Trump's decisions is ridiculous. Just go ahead and say you're cool with it and stop trying to conflate the issue.

Yeah. You have fathers that up and leave... but you also have the majority of situations where mothers/women are in incentivized to mate with whomever and the govt will come in to bail them out with either govt subsidies or child support/alimony.

Incentives drive behavior.

Actually, I did not GAF. I know better now. We should have never been involved to begin with.

Whether we should have ever been there or not is beside the point in this case, we were and are and the Kurds have stood shoulder to shoulder with our troops even though we have ****ed them over multiple times.

They deserve better from us.

I'm cool with this decision. I have no reason to run from that. I've been critical of his other decisions.
There is no reason to argue just because we have a fundamental difference in philosophies. Withdrawing from Syria is not going to put milk in the kids cereal bowls either.
