Basically, you are saying Erdogan told Trump to remove our forces.
You cite two articles that don't connect those dots like you imply.
You have no proof.
Today, President Donald J. Trump spoke with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey by telephone. Turkey will soon be moving forward with its long-planned operation into Northern Syria. The United States Armed Forces will not support or be involved in the operation, and United States forces, having defeated the ISIS territorial “Caliphate,” will no longer be in the immediate area.
“Told” was definitely too strong. You can’t order the US president to do anything. That said, clearly he is doing this as a favor to Erdogan. His own press release makes that clear. If you don’t see that, you’re being willfully ignorant.
You think our presence in the ME makes us safer? That's naivete, IMO. It's precisely why we're targets
Isolationism at its best. Unfortunately International Relations is a game. And those who refuse to play the game by taking their ball and going home let the other guy run the table. Its not a zero sum game. The dichotomy of either only defending our own borders while we leave a vaccum for ISIS to flourish and expecting to remain safe is naive.

I think the cat is out of the bag when it comes to a perpetual terror machine, radical islam can't be blown up or reasoned away. The west and other european infidels will be their targets whether we're there or not, I'd prefer to beat it back rather than to let it grow and fester unchecked. Sorry, I'm not relying on 'border protection' as was offered as solution. I've see TSA in action and my thoughts on a border wall are well known.
I "feel" safer knowing we have a strong defense and offense.
