If we were to get the two of them, this would be a tip 5 class by the time the domino effect continues. A possible new coach and all of this talent could be for something special in the future.

I really think we got a shot at Boyd. Who has ever chosen WVU over UT other than the DickRod years. Those guys play in a weak conference and that 3 year run is over. The coach is gone after the season (look at Louisville, they suck, and fizzled out quick once Petrino left).

Not to much futher from Morgantown and probably the closest SEC school to his home. Weapons from day one are available for him, and he is going to have a stable of fast running backs to help carry the load. I think he is stupid if he doesn't take a look. Knoxville is much better city, the school is a much better school, and the football whole heck of a lot better.

Most importantly, this late in the game, most big schools already have a top QB or two. UT looks real good for a kid who is reconsidering this late in the game.

Tajh Boyd just picked up his ninth offer and also took a visit to Tennessee to check out the Volunteer program. An admitted fan of the SEC, Boyd came away very impressed with Knoxville, the coaching staff and everything about the program. He spoke with us on Sunday night about all of his recent activity.

We can only hope. I didn't expect us to Askew either...

As a lifetime Vol fan who live in WV and pulls for WVU as long as they don't play the Big Orange, I believe I can shed some light on this matter. I have purchased season tickets to WVU the last three years (wife and two boys big WVU fans) and I have seen the fall of this program.

There was a lot of belief that Stewart was not a X's and O's coach but would be the motivator type of coach. They went and paid top dollar for good coaches that would take care of the game plan. They even hired Doc Holliday (from Florida) to head up the recruiting.

Well before the start of the season, the top recruits loved the way the coaches ran the practices and some made earlier commitments. There was a real nice family atmosphere that was different the RAMROD's approach. Everything was good to go until the season started. The offense was supposed to evolve into this potent offense that would dwarf the accomplishments of the previous three years. The recruiting pipeline would be stocked for years to come. The upgrades to Mountaineer field would insure the facilities at WVU would be second to none in the Big East and would assure WVU of be a top 10 team for years to come.

Then the season started. The offense appeared to evolve in the passing game but regress in the running game which was the staple of the WVU offense. The defense gave up lots of yards to Villanova but left the field with an impressive win on the scoreboard. Next came ECU and a loss and then Colorado and another loss. While WVU has put two wins together in the last few weeks, they have not looked impressive in any game. The coaching staff has simplified the offense to the point they want a balanced attack.

The issue now is that the line can't block, the backs have no vision and try to hit a HR on each run, and the defense is pathetic. Oh by the way, the coaching is horrible, play calling that would make Fulmer’s staff look like the think tank. With this said, any success that WVU has this season will be due to Pat White who still in my opinion is the most exciting player in the country.

For all the reasons detailed above, I truly believe the buzz has worn off WVU and the recruits see it. Tajh Boyd does not want to come to a place where he gets to be an all star on a second tier team in the Big East. Now is the time to go after this kid and maybe even get Heastie.

Didn't know we had WVU fans on here, sorry for bashing earlier. But thanks for the insight. This is totally how I feel too. You know, Big East had a good run for the last couple years, playing big games on Thursday night and BCS bowls. They got alot of exposure.

Then WVU losses to Pitt, the two top teams get their coaches taken, and now every big conference has at least one game on Thursday nights. For WVU, they will
bounce back sooner than the others mtl, but the hype has seemed to fizzled out.

As far as Boyd, it shouldn't be too awfully hard. I like the competition; don't think he will ever make it out to oregon, and UT is clearly the best school. Plus, he plans to enroll in January I believe, so the window will not be open long. Losing Nunes has put us in a fortunate situation. If we did get him, I would expect a decision soon, right after the Bama game if he visits. Him and D Thigpen met as well as many other of our recruits/prospects.

a WVU fan on the main board said that if his coach, Beatty, leaves, which is might likely the case, that he will be wearing the orange and white
