That falls under 2 or 3.

The first thing wrong from the tweet is specific to actually leaving which I thought we had universal agreement on. I can find numerous posts in this thread, some which are downright lecturing, that nobody is complaining about leaving, it was the way it was done.

Mr Orange blood here posted a tweet that seems to think leaving was a mistake.

So I ask again, what was the alternative to leaving that Biden should have considered?
There are people who think leaving was a mistake. Seems like a lot of them are never Trump Republicans.

The best argument I’ve hear for staying is that Pakistan has nukes and having a US controlled territory on Pakistan’s border is better than having a failed state or the Taliban on their border.

Second best is that we apparently haven’t had a casualty there in over a year but seems like we’ve been discussing withdrawal for that long.

IMO: Withdrawal was the correct move. The way it’s been done is the worst foreign policy **** up since at least the beginning of the war in Iraq and maybe the worst in half a century.

I doubt many of them know how to even spool up an M-1 much less be given the keys to one. We gave them a bunch of ragged out C-27’s, some turbo prop ground attack aircraft, black hawks, and humvees and what not but no Apaches or Abrams or stuff like that. They might have some M-60s don’t know.

If we really did give them top line equipment we are idiots.
You do know who is supposedly the president... doncha?

And one more thing @Septic

You and I both know (if you'll admit it) there was a massive psychological operation after 9-11 to delegitimize the Taliban as a political party with an armed wing and turn them into a terrorist group. Sure, they harbored terrorists in Afghanistan and let them do what they wanted. But by and large, the Taliban focused entirely inside of the Afghan borders and were not the terrorists they were portrayed to be by Bush, Obama and company.

I think Trump did the right thing in negotiating with them as a political party rather than following what the two previous Presidents had done in treating them as terrorists because they opposed the sitting government we installed in Kabul. They are a political party that's reprehensible in their actions and 8th century in their thinking. But even as distasteful as they are, sometimes you have to deal with the devil...

One of your better posts...

I don't recall a minute where I saw a push by anyone to say that the Taliban weren't complete sh*theads.
Dude, you just confirmed what he said.

Septic is in Delaware rubbing Joe’s leg hair.

Is this the way you deflect from not being able to back up an argument?

Deflect to another ginned up position? I'm sure the peanut gallery will love it.

Trump negotiated with terrorists. Full stop.

He gave them a date and time and didn't even invite the Afghani government to the table. Biden may have botched the withdrawal but no amount of revisionist history will change that trump laid the groundwork for the Taliban's takeover.
Let's be honest though, the Afghan government was never going to succeed, the Taliban were always going to rule the politics there.

I know you enjoy rubbing Biden’s leg hair. Did you pose for Hunter’s art also?

LOL, what is this weird obsession you have with Bidens leg hair? You keep bringing it up like it's some sort of slight I should react to.

Serious question, are you familiar with the term "projection?"

I've never paid much attention to you but is this sort of bizarre deflection your m.o. when you get one of your arguments carved up?

I prided myself for 5 years or so for never putting anyone on ignore. That was stupid. Within a week of ELs arrival, i was 1st person to identify her as a female...got an infraction or 2 due to her trolling...then put her on ignore.

Best decision i ever made ln VN. Since Freak launched VN 2.0....EL doesnt exist. I dont see her posts, even if yall quote them...and i forget she exists unless yall mention her by name. She is dead to me...a ghost. She is a troll, and an alter for loother, LG, or both.

Strongly recommend ignore. Theres another troll here so obvious that i have considered placing in ghostland as well....

Missionaries and teachers had the finger on the pulse of what was going down, naivety need not apply.

If they chose to stay in a war torn country that is knowingly being taken over by people who would as soon kill them as look at them, they are on their own - not our problem.

Life is made of choices. Choices have consequences.

So are you on the side that Biden got bad intel or ignored good intel?

Based on this it sounds like the former.

I pick option C - Biden is a moron.

He's totally mishandled this on almost every front. From leaving Americans and allies vulnerable to his comments to the press, he's screwed the pooch royally. There is no defense for this.

EVACUATION FLIGHTS NOT GUARANTEED TO BE FREE: Even though U.S. officials tell NatSec Daily and others that evacuation flights from Kabul will be free, people trying to catch a plane in the Afghan capital say differently. One person said State Department staff were seeking large payments — up to $2,000 — from American passengers and even more from non-U.S. citizens.

When we relayed what this person told us to the State Department, a spokesperson didn’t deny that this is happening.

“U.S. law requires that evacuation assistance to private U.S. citizens or third country nationals be provided ‘on a reimbursable basis to the maximum extent practicable.’ The situation is extremely fluid, and we are working to overcome obstacles as they arise,” the spokesperson said.

In other words, the Biden administration may request payments for evacuation flights.
