Because Biden wanted to get out, not send more troops back there.

Obviously he made mistakes of his own, but the wheels for what we see today started turning last year. That's what I'm saying.
Biden didn't want to send more troops in, so cocking up the withdrawal was the right answer? Thankfully we haven't had to send any more troops in pausenot.

'There will be consequences': Taliban hits back at Biden and warns US to get out by August 31 or 'provoke a reaction' after President said American forces could stay beyond withdrawal deadline to complete evacuation

  • President Joe Biden has set the deadline of August 31 as the cut-off for withdrawing troops from Afghanistan
  • Taliban spokesman Dr Suhail Shaheen said they will not allow for an extension and warned of retaliation
The Taliban has delivered a chilling warning to foreign nationals and Afghans scrambling to leave the country, saying there will be 'consequences' if the US does not leave Afghanistan by August 31 and extends a deadline for the withdrawal of troops.

Thousands of Afghans who worked with U.S. military forces remain camped around Kabul airport trying to find safety as the clock ticks down. American nationals are also waiting for their own flights home.

Great! Now the Taliban is talking $hit.

It absolutely is when you edit my post. And I'm the one lying?!?!?!?!?!?

Here is the exact nonsense you posted:

I asked for clarification, because surely nobody is that stupid:

Then you tried to save face by editing MY POST to something you could agree with:

GTFO. You said something stupid, own it and don't change what I said so it looks better.

Lol you have issues.

There are a few still at the Embassy I’m getting first hand info from. There is one that evacuated from the airport that I heard second hand info from.
Hmm, that E-11 isn’t doing its job securing communications with non essential personnel.

I don't know what you mean by this. But it isn't enlisted or government people I'm talking to and everything I've said isn't FOUO information.

My guys aren’t waiting to find out.
I'm afraid are about to leave a lot of Afghan allies and their families out to dry.

My current theory based on where we are: I think the Taliban and US had agreed to a phased withdrawal with some basic parameters. The Taliban took areas at rates that hadn't been part of the plan putting us in a precarious position.

This would explain the odd statements from the admin about the Taliban letting Americans through etc which was part of the plan if a few were cut off. We didn't expect so many to be cut off.

'Please Boris, Just Get Me And My Kids Out Of Here': Man with strong northern English accent waves UK passport and says army is refusing to let him into Kabul airport - as video shows 'two young children left behind after parents were let in' without them

A British man stuck in Afghanistan has today been filmed waving a UK passport while pleading with Boris Johnson: 'Get me and my kids out of here'.

Speaking with a strong northern accent, the man is seen telling ITV film crews outside a temporary British embassy in Kabul that the army is refusing to let him into the capital's airport for evacuation.

Flashing a British passport as he made his desperate plea, the man told ITV: 'I'm a British citizen, my kids are British and we're stuck here, they closed the door on us and they're shooting at us.

Are the Americans outside the airport free to leave at anytime by thier own free will????

They certainly were at any point up until two weekends ago. I have hard time with the general "Americans" statement like they woke up to a revolution or something. That place has been a ticking time bomb for years and no one in their right mind should have been there outside of a few reasons in the last couple of years, especially after the USA started sneaking out in the night.

Just so you know the pictures in this article are wrong. I'm 99% sure the C-17 taking off picture is from Dubai, not Kabul.

Kind of brings the rest of the pictures and information into question.

Washington Post Reporter Reveals How She And Her Team Were Rescued by Brave BRITISH Troops After Biden Banned US forces from venturing out of Kabul airport

  • The Washington Post 's Susannah George told her harrowing tale of trying to escape Afghanistan accompanied by her Afghan colleagues and their children
A Washington Post reporter has shared how British troops helped her and friends flee Afghanistan - as pressure mounts over US forces' continued refusal to leave Kabul airport.

Susannah George told of how she and the paper's Afghan staff were able to latch on to a separate evacuation led by UK troops, after spotting them and asking for help to flee.

Those roads were being guarded from Taliban interference by UK service personnel, before making it to the security gate of the airport itself, which was manned by American troops.

It's the Daily Mail...

Serious question, as a centrist who leans right I think you are pretty even keeled politically. At the very least intellectually honest. Who in your opinion are trusted sources in regard to news with limited political slant?
I don't think it's finding ones without a slant it's more of understanding the slant before reading. You can still get actual information from a Fox or CNN but just know they're reporting on something or putting it at the top of the page for a reason. BBC, Guardian, etc are good but the trashy tabloids like the daily mail or sun are worthless. Looked at the intercept occasionally too until the Greenwald stuff came out. I really like reading Glenn's stuff because I know it's been well researched. Also listen to select podcasts with people on Rogan or Lex Friedman (even though Lex's guests can get way over my head fast)

I don't consume media just to do it. I usually search out a specific point from multiple places.

So, what you're saying is to take everything you read or hear with a grain of salt, which is what most normal people do.
