I agree and can understand this sentiment to a certain extent. But the math has changed here. The military is tuned towards a civilian management and evac operation while under siege. And at the will of two competing groups who really don't care whether they hurt, maime and kill. This was largely avoidable. What did I state that was untrue? I just find all this outrage to be very opportunistic
I totally get what you are saying, but all we can fix is today and America just has to be better than this. The end was going to be tough no matter when it happened, but putting in an artificial deadline, closing the airbase and basically telling everybody "Good luck getting to the airport" was just not smart.Sure but which side does it fall on when compared to the casualties from the past 4-8yrs that haven't even been reported outside of DoD press release and a local paper
Some of it is opportunistic, but not unjustified. This withdrawal has been bungled and put civilians in danger.
Did they get intelligence briefings that stated that Afghanistan would be taken over within weeks? Your complete lack of human decency that you have toward fellow American citizens says a lot about you. Why? If you're hanging out in Afghanistan in August of 2021 you have to understand the dangers. If you take a school trip there you're a bunch of morons
Oh it's been terrible but when govt is involved...I totally get what you are saying, but all we can fix is today and America just has to be better than this. I haven't seen anyone post that getting out of Afghanistan was a bad thing. The criticism is with the way the current admin is handling it. They have failed.
The airfield decision and the deadline are just unconscionable. The whole G7 took one look and thought we were nuts.Oh it's been terrible but when govt is involved...
I think giving up baghram may give been one of the biggest errors in logistics I've seen. Limiting it to one airfield was crazy. Hopefully it comes out who made that decision
