That doesn’t justify your initial dumb hot take.

It absolutely does. These are people that willingly put themselves in harms way, knowing the situation.

This is not just some person dressed proactively at a party with a reasonable expectation of safety.

I ask again, when they decided to go to Afghanistan to vacation or whatever, what in the blue F were they expecting?

It does no such thing.

The BBC's Secunder Kermani in Kabul: "Videos shared online show piles on piles of dead bodies, so expect the casualties figures to rise."
Unfortunately the videos are all over twitter. Piles of dead bodies in a sewer canal and more piled in the road. Looks to be a lot more than the 15 originally reported. This is a disaster. Of course thousands of al Qaeda and ISIS criminals were set free last week when Kabul fell. How many of those are looking for revenge?

Greatest debacle in history? That's completely idiotic when you remember what we've done in the ME in the past 2 decades. Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, etc
The MIC's thirst for money and power on the backs of the men and women in the military is well documented. We're talking about Americans that have little or no ability to fight against paramilitary that they're up against in Afghanistan. I wonder if you were dropped off in the middle of Afghanistan, if you'd feel different. Again, your complete lack of human decency speaks volumes about you.

This was a combination of gunfire and explosives, which is a classic insurgent tactic.

It's what's been used in many of the urban attacks that have taken place in Afghanistan in recent months and years - usually with a suicide bomber setting off an explosion.

No argument from me. But I find it hard to believe it would be that much better with anybody else in the WH. It's the "what if" argument nobody can win. All we know for a fact is Biden is the president that actually decided to do this so he owns it. All the other presidents before wouldn't give it anything other than sound bites and promises while kicking this can down the road.

Exhibit A on why liberals, progressives, marxists, democrats, socialists, and never Trumpers voted for Biden. Does that cover the groups that voted for him? They think it doesn't matter who is in the White House. It is a fool proof job. This is how you get clowns hired for something they aren't qualified for. This is why Kamala Harris is VP. Folks this is how liberals think. Very dangerous.

Reports of gunfire. So close quarters combat intermingled with non combatants. No way to call in mortars or air power. Precludes machine guns returning fire. Only accurate small arms fire can be a viable response. I really hope we don’t have deaths but I don’t see how we can avoid it in this situation. We already know we have casualties

Pretty much prevents any chance of us isolating the attackers and destroying them.

They're in Afghanistan not Orlando. Who just gets dropped off there with no ability to fend for themselves or understand the situation?

If Psaski came to the podium and read this statement verbatim, you guys would lose it.

So now he's credible and knows what he's talking about?

I get it, this was going to happen, needed to happen. But decisions about pulling out seemed to be made to keep military safe and from coming in conflict and civilians and allies were exposed. The whole thing just wasnt executed very well. It was always going to be difficult. This just feels like someone said eff it, let's roll out

Anyone not outraged by this fiasco is not paying attention.
The non-outrage is purely partisan, but some of the outrage and blame game is partisan as well.

If this fiasco occurred under Trump, there would absolutely be deflection done by his surrogates and partisans, just like Sloppy Joe's surrogates and partisans have done for him, and it would be Dems who were uniformly outraged.

Foxnews reporter on twitter: NEW: Source briefed on the situation in Kabul tells me “hundreds of ISIS-K in the vicinity, attacks likely to continue”

And that means any Americans still there are in extreme danger. This isn't good.
