I don’t think you get anything if you don’t make it to 20. Probably need a vet to give the accurate details. But that’s why you will see people go into reserves to get to the 20.

I don’t think there are any lump sums just a life annuity.

our state pension is similar but you vest after 10 which means you can keep the state contribution if you cash out (plus your required contribution). at 25 years you can take it as annuity or after 10 and at least 60 years old.

in any case you can always keep your contributions and you get the state part after the vest.

The guy really sounds like he shouldn’t be in a command position. Did you see the video of him in civies telling people to follow him and they would get it done or something like that?

His prior service which I genuine am glad he stepped up for doesn’t qualify him to completely buck the uniformed and civilian chain of command. If you can’t support it retire. It isn’t about you.

No, I haven’t paid much attention to him. When I saw the video he posted on FB I knew his career was done, he wants to be an activist then fine I can respect that but he has no business being in uniform any longer.

The worst thing he said about Trump is that he was too divisive and didn’t want his kids to serve under him. That’s about it.

People wrongly assumed he was a Trump supporter. He can’t stand Trump. He replied to Jr on Twitter to stop invoking his cause because he can’t stand Trump and thought he was a lousy leader. The guy basically just gave the finger to the whole establishment both parties. Hey that’s fine I do it too. But you can’t do it and be a uniformed active duty officer in the military. He’s gonna be found guilty on all counts if it goes before court Marshall.

I’ll say this, I respect him more than that Vindman guy (who should have faced a courts martial). This guy had a chance to be a martyr for the maga crowd and be taken care of but he stuck to his principles and put everybody on blast.

Yep. Both are bat **** crazy. But I’d buy this guy a beer. I’d piss in Vindman’s glass of Chardonnay but that’s about it
