Talk about in dream land...

Most of the predictions I've seen from research of the so called experts have fla 7-5. Those same ones have Tenn 6-6. I'm talking about Athlon sports, bleacher report, cbs sports, fox sports, etc.
Most of our fans on here I think have been reasonable and predicted around that. My point was from the site I went to I think fla fans average prediction was 10-2 or better.

Thus dream land.

Gator, I know you said you have heard several experts say fla wins 10+. Who are they? I know Cowherd says we will beat Bama. Just saw that Butch Jones is predicted to be coach of the year, don't think you get that going 6-6 IMO, so they must think we will do better.

SEC network just put them at 9-3... :)

Losing to:

Bama
SC
FSU

This just in on the SEC network: Booger has no idea what's going on with UT and thinks Dobbs should have been named starter, and McElroy actually made sense and predicted us to go bowling.

Not predicting the same or even similar ending, but a lot (and I mean a lot) of analysts and fans were predicting a similar or better record for the 2012 Vols.

9-3, 10-2 were both thrown out by many.

Phil Steele had the Vols as one of the most improved teams in the country in 2012. Had us tied with SCar for 3rd in the East.

We all know this prediction stuff is usually just meaningless talk to lead us up to game time.

I visit both and as I stated I think 8 is the #. There are guys that are so called experts and get paid that have FL winning 10... Not so crazy when you read a bunch of TN fans having UT winning 8 and I haven't seen an expert predict that...

Same experts that almost unanimously agreed that Alabama and Ohio State would be in the BCS Championship last year? With Oregon as a dark horse?

I have much faith in pre-season predictions of the "experts."

I for one am glad the Tennessee is being overlooked. I hope they don't cover us until we're in the SECCG.

If Florida scores points, they will be a dangerous team.

If they continue to struggle offensively, it will be a struggle again this season.

I think they have the personnel to do better than expected, but they have to stay healthy. An injury on the offensive line and they are in trouble. An injury at some other spots and there will be problems as well.

We'll see.

Wow. That's some keen insight, man!.....Couldn't this be applied to any team though?

I think us winning 8 has a better chance than fla winning 10 but I can see neither happening!! We are a QB away!!!! The champ will come out of the west again with lsu,aub or Bama!!

They will go as far as their QB will take them. He's the key to their season. Their Defense will be outstanding.

Sure.

Where Florida is different is that it's truly difficult to get a feel for what you are going to get.

They actually have some pieces to be a productive offense. With a productive offense and a make-up season from the injury gods, and 10 wins isn't a crazy idea.

However, it could just as easily be a disaster.

I wouldn't say that about the Florida defense. I'm pretty confident about what I'm going to see.

I'll put it this way. Florida is a team I would not want to place any bets on.....either way.

All joking aside... You would be correct and that's why they play the games. Like I stated I can only see 8 wins.

Objective question here, but do you know if they are going to change the offensive scheme? New OC and all and will the current players fit that scheme?

I will admit y'all have a tough schedule. Ala, at ut right after, lsu and fsu. It would be hard for anyone to predict a 10 win season. Almost as tough as ours. Lol.

The gators will have a very tough season imo. A lot of turnover with coaching and the vols know all to well about changes in schemes regardless of the athletes on the field

Coach on a hot seat
New OC & Offensive scheme
Multiple player transfers
Multiple players coming off injury (risk of reoccurrence/not being as good as before injury
Solid D but less quality depth than years past
Ugly schedule, but USCe & LSU home

I can see them winning 10 if they catch all the breaks but I think 7-8 is more realistic.

Vols find a way to beat those pesky gators this time!

GA & Mizzou have easiest SECw schedule (again)

TN: bama, at Ole Miss
FL: at bama, LSU
USCe: aTm, at Aub
Mizzou: at aTm, ARK
GA: at ARK, Aub

The sad part is they actually recruited better for what they weren't running (and are running now) than what they were running (and ditched).

They are going to be a spread team and operate almost entirely out of the shotgun.

They will have 3 and 4 men lined up on the outside even inside the 10 yard line.

The system definitely fits Driskel better. Whether he performs, stays healthy, etc....we'll see.

But, he's not an under the center, read the defense, go through his progressions, qb. That's not him. In this system, he won't be asked to do that.
