Tebow fumbles first snap / Says he has strep throat...

I don't hate Tebow, and I won't be even the least bit upset if he's successful in the NFL. I just have a serious question here. Would we even be talking about him as much if he was black? I really don't think he'd get nearly as much hype. Flame away.

That's not true, because I'm black and you guys are always talking about me.

Race doesn't factor in here. Now defending any Gator related person or accomplishment does merit many personal attacks.

Count me in the camp that thinks Tebow will never amount to anything more than a clipboard carrier in the NFL. I hope he somehow proves me wrong, but I doubt it.

I'm also in the camp that thinks he's one of the best to ever play college football.

I doubt I'm the only person here who shares both opinions.

He's one of the best, but the hands down best as the current pundits tell it to drive ratings. He's a very unique football player and timing of Meyer's spread took advantage of it.

He doesnt have a position, he is not fast, he just needs to hang it up and coach... Just dont coach mechanics...

if tebow was an atheist or god forbid a muslim and did the same thing most people here woudl go bat****. the fact is he only gets the leway he does BECAUSE he is christian and not the other way around.

Why does it REALLY bother so many people that he is a Christian? What is the origin of such hatred? Tebow is one best college players I have ever seen. Just like Peyton, others got sick of the goody status and just punk him because they're tired of hearing about him. Bottom line for me is that I wish him the best, which may or may not include the NFL.

Good one. I guess many here can relate to that type of athlete. At UF, the Gators have both kinds. Wuerffel was a starter-Tebow.

Wait. Maybe someone can give me a few paragraphs on what a bad person Wuerffel is too.

how about a few paragraphs on woofie's NFL career?

Great post.

Because I'm tired of hearing people go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about jesus when im watching a football game.

Here's the nonsense I'm talking about. He's NOT EVEN IN THE NFL, YET, but he's found a freakin' way to weasel his beliefs into the biggest sporting event of the year.

I'm beside myself ticked about this. And I even agree with it! I'm a Christian, also, but every time I turn around there's Tebow telling me how to feel. An anti-abortion ad during a sporting event is classless and incendiary. If you think he has no agenda that he's trying to cram down your throat, well, here ya go! No more defending this joker...

Reportedly Tebow now has the Flu , strep throat, or something and was hospitalized.

First whats with the Gators ? Seems like every other week there is another one going to the hospital for stupid stuff.
CUM well we still don’t know what happened there
Harvin – had headaches.
Tebow – throws really bad so now he has “strep throat”

For the record, and I am by no means a warrior. But I have lost important fball games, gotten headaches, strep throats, and had lousy practices. Never once did I check myself into a hospital. I just chalked it up to a bad day.

I'd rather take snaps from under center, not win the SEC East, and maybe get an opportunity to get blasted in the Chik Fil A Bowl while being coached by a lawyer fresh from LA Tech.

That sounds much better.

A bit of a myopic view if you think winning the SEC and bowl games is all that matters. Maybe for fans but for most players it's getting to the NFL.

The fact is Urb has coached and won with two QBs and one is playing in the CFL and the other being looked at as a potential H-Back or LB. Granted Leak wasn't his recruit and he only had him for a year but he was supposed to be a great qb coming out of high school. Tebow is looking the same way. If you go back to Utah, Alex Smith has had a terrible time adjusting to the NFL. IMO, Brantley will be the deciding QB. If he can't make him into a decent NFL QB, then the reputation will be if you go to UF you might win but if you want to play QB at the next level go somewhere else. Maybe UT where our OC actually knows how to coach guys for the NFL.

BTW, even the UT QB off our crappy 5-7 team two years ago was on the roster in the AFC Championship game this year.
