Tebow fumbles first snap / Says he has strep throat...

this from MoveTheSticks on twitter:

Tebow threw it okay when he had a lot of room. However, when bodies close in, he can't get the ball out. Motion is WAY too long.

Beating Bama in '08 without Harvin is what sent the media hype to a new level imo. Up until that point Tebow had not led UF on a 4th quarter comeback.

I know the train is off the track as far as this thread goes, but the fact remains that you guys keep bringing up Tebow, not the UF fans who post here. It's no secret his game is not tailored for the NFL, so him struggling in Mobile shouldn't come as a surprise, let alone some cause to celebrate.

I said at the top of the thread that it's schadenfreude for bitter old losers. I have no illusions about myself.

I know you guys think that all the Tebow disdain is just jealous Gator-hating, but that's not it at all. We're sick of listening to announcers fellate the guy every Saturday. I swear I once heard an announcer credit a big defensive stop by Florida to the inspirational pep talk they'd received from Tebow during the time out. It's been nauseating to listen to for four solid years. We're also sick of watching him jump and posture and preen after first downs like a jackass while being the only player in the conference immune from the SEC's unsportsmanlike conduct crackdown. Guy should have gotten two flags a week thrown on him. We are sick of our Gator friends talking about him like he's Jesus. We're sick of seeing grown men, mulletheads in full plumage, wearing eyeblack in the stands like smitten little girls. We're sick of all of it, which yes includes losing to him every year. We're glad to see him go, and I for one, look forward to his impeding failure. Not because of him so much, but because the sooner he bombs his way out of the NFL into whatever third-world monastery he ends up in, the sooner the rest of us can stop having news about everything he does rammed down our throats.

Matthew 5:10
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Keep going for Jesus Tim Tebow! Your only racking up rewards in heaven. Keep bashing Tebow haters. You just make it better for him with every word you say. ;)

Feel Better?

I personally am tired of hearing all the media hype too, but it is not the fault of Tim Tebow. So leave him out of it. Also if your tired of hearing about him, maybe your vol posting brothers should quit starting threads about him.

I can recall probably less than five times I have seen him step up in the pocket and deliver. Seems his instincts are to drift and improvise... not very efficient for the NFL.

I thoroughly respect your honesty and vol devotion. Just not my style.

Have you ever seen him prance around the field and play up to the crowd? He's completely into the cult of personality thing. I swear, all somebody has to do in this country is talk about Jesus on TV and everybody just automatically fills in the humble/good man/kind to children and animals/generous blanks around him. Tim Tebow isn't an actual personality as much as he is a Rorschach test.

I'm just clinging to the hope that there ARE still a few good/quality people in the world, until proven otherwise.

Per ESPN

Ummmm...this sounds vaguely familiar....IIRC, Urban used the "team is sick" excuse after the UT game....

It's puzzling how it can be taken to be a de facto ad hominem attack on Tebow to point out that many have believed, for some time now, that his skill set has some serious deficiencies if one is expecting him to play the QB position at the next level. It's a simple truth that has been apparent to absolutely anyone caring to take the time to watch. Perhaps better questions would be:

How correctable are these problems and how much money is someone willing to pay to find out?

Are his strengths transferrable? For instance, would it be worth having him as a short yardage/goal line specialist that could also be considered a regular backup? It's not like his Fr year that was basically his role at FL.

Is QB being off the table an option? Would he be willing to play special teams/FB/TE/H-Back? (Perhaps occaisionally slipping into the Wildcat?)

Whether one likes Tebow as a person or not has little to do with the demonstrable fact that there is no dearth of legitimate criticism of his skills once taken out of the friendly confines of the scheme and talent pool he's been associated with over the last 4 years.

Joey Kent looked awfully good here...with Peyton Manning as his QB. There's no shortage of players that, once removed from situations that strongly supported them, showed themselves to be less than stellar when having to get by more on their own merit. I don't fancy myself prescient enough to state for a fact what Tebow will or will not accomplish but I am extraordinarily comfortable at this point saying that I've never believed him to be the equal of his press clippings.

1) Doubtless, TT is disappointed with his own performance;

2) He still has the combines;

3) The countryside is littered with the football corpses of those who have underestimated TT, especially based on one bad day.

If you think he can improve his slow release and his awkward throwing motion in about a month you're crazy.

Lg is not crazy, he is blind.
(oh, and by the way, we are all pathetic for not wanting Timmy to be a great pro)

I don't hate Tebow, and I won't be even the least bit upset if he's successful in the NFL. I just have a serious question here. Would we even be talking about him as much if he was black? I really don't think he'd get nearly as much hype. Flame away.

LMAO at the Gator trolls expecting Vol fans to talk about Tebow positively.
