He's being talked about everywhere else so why not here too?

But my question is mainly a theological one.

Most Christians believe God loves all people equally.

Most Christians also believe God could care less who wins a football game. All though some do feel God hates us and sometimes I even wonder that.

But ALOT of Christians do believe that God will do things to show his greatness, to show the world what he can do, and that he is powerful.

My question is simple ... is God using Tim Tebow as a show of his power?

The guy obviously has the IT factor. He has had it since day one in football and he had it against us and the rest of the SEC. He now appears to have IT in the NFL.

Is he winning because his praise keeps going to Jesus and God and he is being used as a vessel?

Serious question... I understand those who do not believe in God will obviously state "load of crap" or something but I am mainly wondering what other believes think or borderline believers.

This is actually a serious question.

Not to you. But to some.

Peyton Manning didn't pray enough and paid the price. However Tom Brady must attend church every single day of his life

I don't know that God is physically stepping in to help him win his NFL games, but I do think Tebow's faith gives him a boost. He's clearly passionate enough about it that it gives him a new level of confidence and happiness that so many other athletes seem to never have. Not to take a shot at him here, but a typical athlete would fold late a game after playing three quarters the way he has been playing, but somehow he rises above to be his best late in games. I root against him just because he'll always be a Gator to me, but I have got to admit that I envy his faith.

Tebow has specifically said he doesn't think God gets involved or cares about football games. His prayers are how he shows gratitude to God for the abilities he has.

This doesn't answer the question but it does diffuse the often used misconception that he and other athletes think God has a hand in the game.

I watched a replay of the Bears come back. Impressive fortitude. However, watching how long it takes him to wind up and throw is painful.

Kudos to all the good reverends on the Broncos defensive staff then too. They're giving up what, under 15ppg in the wins since Tebow started?

Here's a converse quesiton; what if the Broncos start losing? Proof that Satan is stronger?

I can appreciate that Tebow's a competitor and that his faith plays a role in that. It's an insult to almost everyone (especially Tim's teammates) that Tebow's got some hookup with God to help win football games.

It literally took 3 miracles* to win that game against the Bears. I'd say Tebow's achieved sainthood.

*Barber doesn't stay inbounds, 59 yard FG, Barber fumbles

anyone ever stop to think that needing last second field goals and overtime to beat horrible football teams is being heralded a little too much? and he gets credit for the game winning "drive" against Minnesota? LULZ!!!!

I think the Broncos have an incredibly hot defense right now and Tim Tebow is doing just enough for them to eek out wins against mediocre to weak NFL teams. God has nothing to do with it.

He gets too much credit, but that's always the case for QB's. He's beat good teams as well as bad. Also he led a long drive to tie the Minnesota game, so essentially the same thing as a game-winning drive.

if you call the Jets and the Raiders good teams....and the defense had the game winning drive in that Minny game.

Also I love how everyone in Denver has completely forgotten about John Elway and what he did. He orchestrated more 4th quarter comebacks than any other quarterback in the history of the NFL save for Marino and Favre, he led a game winning drive in the AFC Chamionship that is known as "the drive" in NFL lore. Oh and he won back to back superbowls and played in five of them. Tim Tebow gets his team into field goal range in overtime against a 2 win Dolphin team and he's the best finisher in Broncos history? What is going on with this world?

I will say I watched the sound effects version of the game on NFL network and he's got the team believing and shows good leadership.

Like anything its overhyped but I found myself pulling for him - which was a shock.

I think God cares about everything, including football. He just doesn't care on the same level or same way that we do.

God blesses us in this life. Does that mean that all wins are from God? No. Same is true for losses. Does He give strength and courage and peace to His disciples? Undoubtedly.

As to what Tebow does on camera, I think he is violating Matthew 6:

1 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven.
...
5 “When you pray, you are not to be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. 6 But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
