I think God cares about everything, including football. He just doesn't care on the same level or same way that we do.
God blesses us in this life. Does that mean that all wins are from God? No. Same is true for losses. Does He give strength and courage and peace to His disciples? Undoubtedly.

I truly believe he is really that passionate.
Just because God knows what you are going to do doesn't make your life meaningless. YOU don't know what is to come, so you make your own choices based on what you believe is the best choice. Sometimes it works out for you in this world, sometimes it doesn't. The end goal is to live with God for eternity.
So I guess you could say this life is meaningless anyway because the next is what counts. Christians only live in this world, we are not of this world.
Are other humans 'of this world'? other animals? plants? rocks? dirt?
but your life is already planned and known. Doesn't matter if I know the ending or not. You are not making choices you are simply following the script created for you. Seems boring
